I am not a Kevin Hart fan but I gave it a go as I like the other actors in it. The plot was simple and ptedictable and Kevin played his usual obnoxious self but the short episodes made it more bearable to watch. It's an ok time filler but very forgettable.

"Die Hart" is a 'series' that was made for the Quibi streaming service, where the shows are meant to be watched on your smartphone when you're on the go, so the episodes are all under 9 minutes. There are some funny moments, but this is one of several Quibi shows that doesn't feel quite like a series or quite like a movie, being lost somewhere in the middle. Actually, "Die Hart" borrows generously from comedies from two decades ago. John Travolta shines in his role and looks like a different actor than we have been accustomed to and it gives him a new energy, while Kevin Hart plays his usual character - aloof and oblivious. The end result doesn't feel like a complete project, as much as spending the day watching clips on YouTube from a movie that you're not sure you want to pay to see in its entirety. I do know, I will not be re-watching this.

Originally shown as minisodes. Amazon has turned the original streaming series to a movie.
Die Hart does not have much of an original premise. Michael J Fox played an actor who tags along with a cop in The Hard Way. In Showtime, Eddie Murphy and Robert de Niro are cops in a reality television show.
In Die Hart, Kevin Hart plays a comic variation of himself. He's had enough of being a sidekick in comedies. He wants to be an action star despite his short stature.
However a meltdown on live television threatens to send his career dwindling. However an offer from action director Claude Van De Velde (Jean Reno) is too good to pass up.
Hart goes goes to a training camp in the remote wilderness to be taught to be an action star by Ron Wilcox (John Travolta.) Hart is later joined by actress Jordan King (Nathalie Emmanuel.)
Hart does not like Wilcox and is suspicious of him. That Wilcox has fallen out with some gangsters. Hart also thinks that he is being filmed.
Later actor Josh Hartnett drops by extolling the virtues of Wilcox as an action tutor.
Die Hart is rather predictable, slightly amusing. It was agreeable without any major surprises. Travolta was fun.
If it was made now, the real bullet gun scenes would be cut in light of the Alec Baldwin affair.

Kevin Hart states that this series is about him playing a version of himself who doesn't want to be portrayed as a sidekick comedy charachter. However it only goes to prove that these are the only characters he is capable of playing.
The premise is pretty interesting, as it focuses on an actor who is successful in certain types of roles, but wishes to become a stand alone action hero. In order to achieve this he attends an action hero school where everything is not as it seems.
Based on this plot there are so many ways this could have been a unique and interesting show, but there is no depth or imagination and each episode feels like an 8 minute long trailer for a low budget action film you do not want to see.
The saving grace of this project is that each episode is only 8 minutes long.

Kevin Hart is known for his self-humor about his career and his short body size. He can clearly laugh about himself and this is shown here in perfection.
His joking reactions are so funny, I really enjoyed the show. I was quite surprised by the appearance of John Travolta, I guess he found the fountain of youth.
All in all it's a movie about Kevin, playing himself and doesn't want to be the funny tiny man anymore... but one kind of an action hero. He is tired of being the small funny guy next to Dwayne Johnson and goes to a action hero class.
I like Kevin Hart very much and this film is definitely worth watching. If you don't like him, better stay away.

Not full on funny but it is entertaining enough.
Interesting storyline.
JT was a surprise and made the show.

A show, regardless if it was 8 minutes or 60 minutes long, should have a proper premise. Every episode should have a plot. This entire show looked like an 90 minute movie that was spliced together by people who have not watched the previous splice. This 8 minute show felt incomplete. I've seen better short movies and skits on Youtube.
Kevin Hart complained about playing the same person in all his movies but then he goes ahead and makes this crap. I could have sworn that I have seen the very same premise of this show somewhere, perhaps in a movie played by Kevin Hart himself. Either way, the show isn't entertaining. All Quibi shows deserve to be quibbled at, so make sure to watch this with someone so you could make fun of it together.

Kevin Hart just might start to surprise people in the near future. Die Hart seems to be a warm up for bigger things to come from him. Watch Die Hart! Each episode is only 8 mins long. If you don't like it...you only wasted 8 minutes.
"Die Hart" feels like an overly long youtube video that just happens to have famous actors on it. It is very cheaply made (there are scenes where you can actually see the lighting change shot to shot), the plot is nonsense, and it just feels like a bunch of friends got together to lazily throw something together for fun. The only upsides are a couple of funny jokes and the runtime being relatively short.
For some reason imdb keeps bumping the word count limit so other than what I mentioned above -- Kevin Hart needs some new material: he's playing himself yet again, the self-deprecating stuff is starting to come off as insecure, and he mentioned being from Philadelphia like 8 times in 90 minutes.

It's a worse version of exactly what you expect it to be. It feels like the budget was akin to a couple actors getting their phones out and shooting a proof of concept movie that no one was meant to see. I would avoid this unless you are a die hard Kevin Hart fan and even then set the bar lower then ever before.
There are no surprises you don't see coming a mile away and I can't think of a single joke that didn't make me roll my eyes. The whole movie I was just waiting for it to be over. This is definitely not the quality you are used to seeing in a Kevin Hart movie. I still think he can be funny but this was a big miss for so many reasons...

This isn't new or anything special. It's a funny watch and it's got its moments. I love John Travolta, and Kevin Hart is doing the same Kevin Hart thing. This is the same movie that was put together in shorts three years ago. I don't know why all of a sudden this is getting pushed as a brand new movie and all of a sudden it's number four on Amazon primes watchlist. This has been out for three years now and it just got pushed out again.
It's got a few good actorsand this could've been a chance for Kevin Hart to really be something different. Again, I just don't know why they're making it out to be something new.

I just found out that this movie "Die Hart" existed today. I started it without knowing anything about it because I like Kevin Hart as an actor and comedian. John travolta is decent and that was just a bonus.
The movies budget seemed rather small but was enjoyable. The story kept me intrigued and I laughed quite a lot. The plot was very foreseen though. I whole time, I could guess what was going to happen. I'm stoned so I can't think of the word I wanted to use. The last 2 reviews judged this movie a little more hardly then they should have. My opinion is, this movie was pure entertainment. I really enjoyed it even if the very end was cheesy af.

I think I'm done with the mini-mini series. This was the worst I've seen thus far. There is nothing funny or interesting about it, mostly just people dropping F-bombs and bad action scenes. Kevin Hart isn't an action hero and he ain't funny, at least not in this.
Big production values and no script. I love how Hollywood seems to think that anyone can write just because they can put words down on a page. They don't seem to know the difference between good and bad writing. This show is bad, if anyone is asking.
Chopping up a really bad movie into little bits isn't the answer. Once you have it cut up into small pieces, flush it down the toilet and be done with it.

All I have to say is I expected so much more from every actor in this. The production haven't just selected some randoms for this...these are big names and yet it's just not funny enough and so it's a waste of talent. The writing is weak and painfully predictable which made it boring. Love Kevin Hart but I'm very disappointed.

Kevin Hart is pretty much always sure value as i said before. Its not the first time we see an actor playing an exagerated version of himself. We seen it with JCVD way back in the 2000s and more recently Nicolas Cage with his Massive Talent movie.
Kevin Hart here do not spare making fun of himself and altough the movie is somewhat a bit predictable on where its going, its still make for a fun time. John Travolta is also pretty fun in it. Im still not use to see him bald even tough its been a while he been but beside that if you enjoyed him in his more over the top movies you surely gonna recognize and enjoy this performance who call back to some previous ones.
Fun movie to watch with a beer and i recomand it.
Note : Apparently while searching for it here i found out this was originally a limited series and the movie is an edited version of it to fit in a movie format. I had no idea and i couldn't tell by watching it, wich mean the movie format does work and is well edited.

Ignore all the overly bad reviews, this isn't as bad as users will have you believe. It's a short fun film, some funny moments throughout and a little over the top which isn't a bad thing.
There's some minor faults with the film such as drastic light changes at a certain section of the film during an outside scene, where it goes from dim to bright. Kevin Hart is funny as always.
I find it's always best to go into a film with an open mind and come to your own verdict once you've seen it. I've noticed alot of review bombing on this platform which is a shame. Fun Sunday film which does contain some bad language.

If you envisioned that meme painting by Fernando Botero of Pope Leo, the chubby person, titled Y Tho, you're on the right track. I'm not sure why this nonsense was even made. Perhaps it's a mid-life crisis vanity project for Hart, but it ended up playing out like failed SNL sketches. The story, what little there was of it, didn't have enough substance to even fill in the mere 78 min runtime. The action was laughable, and the comedy was lame. Conceptually, the narrative was interesting, but the execution felt like something you'd expect from a high school drama class. I know this is an ongoing TV series, but it's not like it's successful, so not sure who had the bright idea to turn this into a movie no one will enjoy or for that matter want to see. At least the film's premise is right, Hart isn't a leading action star. But he is the best sidekick ever, and should just stick with that.

I have to say , I have never done this , be 'shocked ' by low ratings . It makes me sad to see because I assume it's a deterrent to a comedians creative endeavors when they get poor reviews like this . I watched Die Hart several months ago and gave it a 9. And now there are substantially more reviews . I happen to appreciate Kevin Harts humor, so there's that, but it's not like I was expecting much . The litmus test was my roommate who is tough to entertain. We enjoyed this so much ! Clever ,funny ,different , intelligent and not a ton of filler so the episodes are short and to the point ! A fun ride !!

So, Kevin Hart is somewhat superstar of something. For me, don't know what. Never got any of his performances in either stand-ups or movies. But he's ok, nothing more or less. As pointed in this show, he's a second. This said, i actually enjoyed this. He's funny and the script is goofy. It's written for the quibi format, and you have to have this in mind when watching. Easy melt brainer.
Your career can go two ways when going meta. Further down the drain (van Damme) or sky rocket (Phoenix). I hope Hart get a boost with season 2 and not spiraling down.

If you watch this movie you, a question surely would come to your mind: Can I write a better script and story while taking a dump simultaneously? The answer is YES!
Kevin Hart is such a bad actor. You gotta praise his agent for getting him leading roles with his impaired acting skills.
I don't write reviews, I specifically logged in and wrote just this one coz i'm mad that it took 90 min away from my life.
The worst part is that the story at least in the beginning had some good potential to be a interesting one. That goes out of the window after just 5 mins of Kevin's acting and the script. The script did John Travolta and other good actors in the movie dirty.

It is no surprise for Kevin Hart to be in low quality movies, but this was the most horrible and time wasting project he was in so far.... Acting was bad, tbh, I've seen far better filming and acting on independent college/school projects.
It was great to see Josh Hartnett and Jean Reno in this, but I kinda wish they weren't in this tv series, just proves my theory actors need every opportunity, no matter how bad it is, to make people remember them... .
overall 1 out of 10 and I wish I didn't waste my time on this...
