All of the locations in the film were the actual real-life locations from the events in 2015 the film is based on.
Director Ricky Borba was brought on just two weeks before principal photography began.
Huge efforts were made to ensure that the script did not embellish the story or events that took place in real life.
The real JT and Terri Lee Clark have cameos in the film. JT Clark appears as fireman Ziegler, and then again with Terri Lee as church attendees.
