The Spanish ships are portrayed by the French frigate Étoile du Roy ("King's Star"), formerly Grand Turk, built in Turkey in 1996 for "Hornblower: The Even Chance" (1998).
The British ships are portrayed by the Russian frigate Shtandart, replica of the man-of-war built by Peter the Great in 1703 in Saint Petersburg. Modern Shtandart was built in 1999 and is a fully-functional sail training tall ship.
