(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Thursday’s episode of “American Horror Stories,” titled “The Naughty List.”)
You better watch out. You better not cry. You better not be a jerk on social media, “American Horror Stories” is telling you why. Because a killer Santa is coming to town on this week’s episode and punishing the members of the stars of fictional digital series “Bro House” for being naughty.
A spin on the slasher genre, the installment, aptly titled “The Naughty List,” follows Wyatt (Charles Melton), Zinn (Nico Greetham), James (Dyllón Burnside) and Barry (Kevin McHale), popular YouTubers who get “canceled” after they post a video of them cheering on a suicide. They spend the better part of the episode trying to make amends (and regain their followers), not by apologizing, but by doing increasingly tone-deaf and cruel stunts on their channel. This culminates in the boys heading to...

Christmas came early on Thursday with the latest episode of American Horror Stories, a cautionary tale of fame, murder… and Santa Claus.
The gruesome hour introduced us to the “Bro House,” a group of influencers — Zinn (Nico Greetham), Wyatt (Charles Melton), James (Dyllón Burnside) and Barry (Kevin McHale) — willing to do anything for more subscribers, from filming a stranger’s suicide to revealing the truth about Santa to a group of unsuspecting children at the mall.

Nerdy Artie no more. Glee alum Kevin McHale is almost unrecognizable in his latest role for Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's American Horror Story spinoff, American Horror Stories. In the fourth episode, titled "The Naughty List," McHale plays influencer Barry, a member of the attention-seeking Bro House. What is Bro House you ask? Well, it's clearly inspired by influencer collectives like Jake Paul's Team 10 or Chase "Lil Huddy" Hudson's Hype House. Similar to these popular groups, each member of the Bro House—including Zinn (Nico Greetham), Wyatt (Charles Melton) and James (Dyllón Burnside)—serves a particular role. Where Barry is the...

If you've ever wanted to enter the life of a Youtuber, then American Horror Stories Season 1 Episode 4 was for you.
For the first time since this poor imitation of the main series kicked off, the episode runtime was just about right, but that's not to say the episode was particularly worthwhile.
The genre was definitely not horror, playing out as more of a satire about how far Youtubers will go to get more subscribers, sponsors, and money.
Maybe it would be best watched by people planning to become influencers to show them how not to act.
Wyatt, Zinn, Michael, and Barry were horrible. They walked around looking like a boyband from the 1990s, and their actions shocked me to the core.
We know pranks have gone wrong on Youtube, but these boys were all about making pranks in the name of getting more power.
Zinn was by far the worst...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “American Horror Stories” Season 1, Episode 4, “The Naughty List,” streaming now on FX on Hulu.
The fourth episode of “American Horror Stories” is called “The Naughty List” and boasted legendary character actor Danny Trejo as “Santa,” so… ho, ho, ho, merry murder time!
The action started at the “Bro House,” which is a group of social media influencers in their 20s who all live together and make obnoxious content for YouTube and other platforms. In case you’re wondering, this is a real thing. There are a lot of wealthy influencers who have started little “content houses” where they live together and get into shenanigans to put on YouTube. Netflix is even making an unscripted series about one.
The influencers here were Zinn (Nico Greetham), Wyatt (Charles Melton), James (Dyllón Burnside), and Barry (Kevin McHale), a bunch of dude-bros who were shown working out,...
