To a Marine we hold our uniform regulations seriously. To not follow those regulations in the movie is a distraction from the story being told. Maybe the franchise should use senior enlisted marine veterans as the military advisors.
If you are a war movie fan this one will not disappoint.
I have to laugh at all these reviews criticising the weapons or army stripes not being accurate - guys let me elucidate for you; your average viewer would not know a sergeant stripe from an a-wipe you have to laugh at these reviews.... really???? - ITS ONLY A MOVIE!
Who watches a movie and looks out for things like that is bizarre!
I watch a movie to be immersed int he plot and story not to see if sergeant Maloney has the correct trigger on his AK-47 or how tight his army troosers are cmon, to rate a movie on this is nonsense and IMDB should remove these reviews as they are just plain fatuous!
Well what do we get for our shillings - Oodles of action, some decent cgi blood splatters and explosions but some terrible dialogue which made me cringe at times. It actually has a pretty decent cast and the acting was good which makes up another Jarhead movie;and as good as Jarhead 2 in my opinion.
The music though is rather Jarring (pardon the pun) and too loud for the soundtrack and it is clear they were trying in the later stages to go for a Black Hawk Down style ethnic Israeli music backtrack to accompany the action which was better than the overbearing rap and rock & roll in the first half.
All in all its actually an above average terrorist war movie so if you are a war movie fanatic like me give it a try as it will not disappoint so gets a fair 6/10 from me.

Story line was sort of ok though the acting is weak. And a 4 star marine general wearing Sargent strips along with his stars really???? Did anyone do any research into this??? Very bad in deed

Whomever (if anyone) was hired as military adviser should be hung by his heels. I am not going to list all the military screw ups as there is no time.

Why would a four star general be wearing a gunnery sergeant stripes on his arm?

In the blockbuster Independence Day, they talk about "...reserve forces in hiding in the Golan Strait", and I haven't heard reviewers canning the movie over that glaring gaffe.
So why I wonder are so many reviewers taking this garden-variety B action flick to the cleaners over errors like that? Especially when this one got some (not-so-obvious) details right?
Could it be they don't like Israel being portrayed as the 'good-guys'?

This exciting and nail-biting film contains loudy action, full of suspense, tension, crossfire, chases and adrenaline. Major Ronan Jackson (Devon Sawa), an accomplished fighter pilot and Israeli by Law of Return, and son of a U. S. Senator (Robert Patrick), is shot down and subsequently captured in Syria after an assignment. Miraculously surviving the crash, Jackson is taken captive by a group of Hezbollah militiamen. Jarhead: Law of Return follows a squad of elite Marine Raiders, led by Gunnery Sergeant Dave Torres (Amaury Nolasco), as they risk their own lives in the hope of saving an ally they've never met. While, the Hezbollah terrorist group decides to take him prisoner and serve as prey and ransom.
A gripping and powerful story packed with hard-hitting action, shootouts, nudism ,violence and many swearings and bad language. A bone-chilling and action-packed film about warlike feats in which a joint Israeli US squad's sent in to rescue Ronan within 36 hours. Not everything revolves around shooting and chases: the key is humanity, so the most dangerous thing is not the mission, it is the rescue and escape and that is what the character of Amaury Nolasco , who is the true protagonist of this intricate and fast-paced action thriller, is very clear about. There is also a description of the Middle East war with the Hezbolla militia supported by Iran, Lebanon and Syria and its fight against Israel for possession of the Golam Heights. Acceptable interpretations from Devon Sawa as Commander Ronan Jackson who's hunted while flying over the Syrian sky, Jeff Pierre as Sgt. Johnson, Yael Eitan as tough soldier israeli Neta, the decesed Ben Cross as USMC General Betz, Robert Patrick as the worried senator and special mention for Amaury Norlasco who's the main starring as two-fisted, and experienced sergeant who in compliance with his military duty will not stop at anything in order to fulfill his mission.
Jarhead: Law of Return (2019) contains colorful cinematography by cameraman Alexander Krumov filmed in several locations from Bulgaria and Israel. As well as a moving and functional musical score by composer Frederik Wiedmann . The motion picture was professionally directed by Don Michael Paul. Don is a secondary actor and an occassional professional director. He is an artisan who has directed a lot of action films as cinema as television , such as : ¨Jarhead 2¨, ¨Sniper Legacy¨, ¨Lake Placid : Final chapter¨, ¨Death race : Beyond anarchy¨, ¨Bulletproof 2¨, ¨Kindergaten cops 2¨, ¨Who is your caddy?, The garden¨, among others. Jarhead: Law of Return (2019)rating: 5.5/10.
The saga Jarhead is made up of: ¨Jarhead¨ (2005) by Sam Mendes with Jake Gyllenhaal, Scott MacDonald, Peter Sarsgaard, Jamie Foxx, Lucas Black. ¨Jarhead: Field of fire¨(2014) by Don Michael Paul with Cole Hauser, Stephen Lang, Bokeem Woodbine, Esai Morales , Jesse Garcia, Jason Wong, Josh Kelly.¨Jarhead: The siege¨ (2016) by William Kaufman with Scott Adkins, Charlie Weber, Dante Basco , Romeo Miller, Erik Valdez, Sasha Jackson, Dennis Haysbert. ¨Jarhead: Law of Return¨ (2019) with Devon Sawa, Amaury Norlasco, Amos Taman, Nicholas Aaron, Robert Patrick .

I gave this a 10 because of all the military haters, America haters, and anti Semites that tore it up in the reviews.

This movie is better than most action flicks.
Quite entertaining for fans of action.
The actors did well, the story was believable and the movie was well made and edited. The music was too loud but still bearable.
Reviewers should keep their politics out of consideration when reviewing movies.

They obviously didn't EVER think to reference any Marine Corps professsionals. For the rank to the weapons and scenarios. What a joke. They had a general wearing enlisted rank. Funny as hell but the worse war movie/ Marine Corps depiction film EVER!!!!
The first Jarhead was actually pretty good - this was not.
So much unnecessary propaganda.
The "action" scenes.......I've seen better attempts at a paintball arena.
The acting was wooden, stiff, boring - just so bland - like none of the "actors" actually wanted to be there.
The lack of military knowledge is a joke to anyone that has served - a Call of Duty video game gets more right this.
The soundtrack and audio effects are too loud, just ear torture - the sound is so loud it turns tinny and distorted - hard to sit through.
I do see the usual sea of fake reviews on here, believe them if you have an I.Q less than 7 but do yourself a favor, watch the original instead and not this cheap cash-in using the Jarhead name.

Almost every part of this movie is an insult to the audience. The boring plot, horrible transitions, bad actors, cringy dialogue, and horrible writing make this movie unbearable to watch.

Based on previous Jarheads, this was directed in a different, more involving and engrossing way. Rated it almost a 7. Whilst it lacked in quality, realism and set, it made up for in raw, courageous spirit. Tough team brotherhood. Gutsy battle scenes. This film isn't meant to be more than it is, a great action film. Some class there. Just go with it. Plenty to think about. I'd watch out again.

This is movie has a boring plot, boring acting and is a big waste of time. I've seen lil' bits of "Black hawk down" in it. No Drones, no AC-130 . The director was lazy and he did not care even to see what military capabilities are in surveillance and gunships if not hire a consultant.
The movie was actually pretty enjoyable. The action scenes looked nice and the plot was engaging.

This is a well acted movie with a believable plot. It has the usual violence but still manages to show a feel for the casualties of war. The cast has a mix of international actors who ply their trade well

Although the plot may have been interesting the portraying in appearance of US Marines is totally disrespectful. Since when does a for star general wear Gunnery Sergeant cheverons on his sleeve. Where the hell did you get a Marine Corps advisor? Oh you didn't. I'm totally offended.
At least try to get the USMC uniform right, what a joke. As for the movie, the action in Congress it's better.

Netflix continues throwing garbage to the viewers, this time in the style of the classic direct-to-video action movies (including the presence of Robert Patrick). I thought "My Honor Was Loyalty" was the worst war movie ever, but, not, this is worse on its pretentiousness, bad acting, weak poor reenactment of military and war stuff (from uniforms to tactics) and the unintended comedic and cringe moments.
I am not serviceman, but I understand this movie could be an insult to any person involved in military, because it is bad in every way. And it is an offense also to those who made the original "jarhead", used in the title of this movie more as an exploitation than a real intent to continue the line draw by that now classic movie, as the style, quality, message and entire idea is totally different.
Recommendation: to avoid. Save your time.
Really nothing new here. The acting was ok. The storyline was extremely predictable. No plot twists, no suspense. It was a straightforward, simple movie, clear cut. Open and close no thrills, nothing. It was executed well and did it's job, told a story and ended quickly. It's neither really good or bad, just something to throw on if you're bored.
I will say not much time was spent on character development so I didn't have any emotions towards any characters. They could have explored the character Ghost more, that would have been interesting.
