Thoroughly entertaining comic drama

It's a good bit of inside jokes and -"if you know you know" wry and comic asides, and not so very much "by the book" sitcom - still leaving quite a bit for the universal audience. Thoroughly enjoyable , fun for the whole family, endearing characters would openly defy the expected stereotype. Look for a remake of this series.
