Despite its creators' insistence that it isn't, 'Entergalactic (2022)' is a movie; it's a feature length affair with character arcs and a defined structure. That's sort of besides the point, I suppose, but I just don't see how else you could classify this and think that rumblings of a so-called 'second season' are preposterous simply because there's no first season to begin with. It's all due to the confusion surrounding its production, of course. At one point, this was to be an anthology series, then it was to be short film, then it was expanded into its current form... there's very little this project hasn't been somewhere in its lifecycle. Anyway, the film is an animated romantic comedy that charts the beginnings of a relationship between its central couple. With its Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018) aesthetic and its penchant for visual surrealism, the flick takes an energetic and effective approach to its material. Its grounded story is presented in a very stylised way, which makes it more compelling to watch than it otherwise may have been. Though the animation isn't as refined as that of its most obvious inspiration, it's still as distinct, lively and enjoyable as you'd hope. It has moments of alternate stylisation which work surprisingly well to differentiate its stories within its story from the wider story itself. There's a lot to like here, including realistic and likeable characters who interact in believable ways. On top of that, there are several montages that could play as music videos to the plethora of new Kid Cudi tracks that populate the score, something which is sure to please fans of the musician. It's a solid effort that's inarguably one of the most visually appealing in its genre.

I actually listened to the album before I knew there was a movie and was very underwhelmed and disappointed. I usually love Kid Cudi. But when I saw there was a movie I watched it right away. Yeah, it's a rom-com so it's a bit predictable and follows the same basic formula of EVERY rom-com but it still works. I love that the animation matches the actual cast members. This movie has some really cool visuals and the music is completely made better when paired with them. Some good laughs in there too. I'll have to give the album another try after having seen the film to see if it makes more sense now. Definitely worth a watch. It's cool to see creative people branch out into new mediums.

Kid Cudi's Entergalactic paints a dreamlike Manhattan with a gorgeous color palette. The film is about some ordinary events happening in this city. It is a work of art and beauty. Every frame feels like a painting, some even tell their own stories.
This Netflix special is a visual companion to Cudi's recent album (which I am unfamiliar with). The album is classified as a concept album, so it's only fair to describe this film a "concept movie." It tells simple stories using simple words, but there are emotions beneath the surface. Cudi voices Jabari, a street artist who just got a huge apartment in Manhattan. I assume Jabari is some sort of a fictionalized version of Cudi himself (personality-wise anyway). The story involves his relationship with his next door neighbor (Jessica Williams), a photographer. The similarity here is that they are both artistic people, which is only fitting since the movie has great artistic value. I fell in love with the bright and unique color scheme-rarely has Manhattan been illustrated more beautifully. And do I need to tell you that it has a killer soundtrack?
There are side characters, even some cameos. The voice work is greatly done, and I think the reason it works that well is that the characters resemble their voice actors. Many scenes here are just people hanging out and chilling, having conversations you would have with a good friend. To my surprise, they bring me comfort, instead of boredom. I guess it's because the flow is balanced well enough. This movie and Richard Linklater's Apollo 10 ½ have similarity in tones and how scenes play out. I love them both. They're great comfort movies. It's sad that neither gets enough attention.

Bringing some of the most famous musicians In one movie,I thought it was exorbitant, but kid Cudi,ty dollar and also jayden really played their characters roles to perfection
The creation of entergalatic revolves around two teen's,Jabari voiced by kid Cudi who is a streewear clad artist and meadow a talanted photographer. Directed by Fletcher Moules known for his work in matrix 1999 really made this animation worth watching.
Considering the fact that the animation doesn't have any tech or action used and yet managed to eschwed boring scenes throughout the movie.
Entergalatic brings out that sense of the characters being gratuitous throughout the movie and not revolving In a tied dramatic loop,it was amazing really.it is like experiencing the reality of life.literally. How they capture the romantic scenes and the not so severe banging of our famous animated musicians is terrific.
Being as it was simple, realistic and enjoyable, one find themselves repeating over time and the best part is it doesn't get boring, still exciting.
They really took their time on this animation .It was worth every second. Love It.

I saw the trailer and the animation looked pretty good. So I figured I'd endure a tired little story just to see the animation. I did not expect the story, the characters, the music, and the overall vibe of the show to be so good. This animated movie was more real and had more feeling than most of the live-action movies out there. All positive characters. The animation enabled them to put that extra element into the movie that gave the scenes and the moods more clarity. The situations were 100 percent on point. The animation is fantastic - its sharp, smooth, and unique...it's art. It was a nice surprised to find that I could actually recognize some of the actors by their voices. This movie hit just right and I'll probably watch it again.
If you are fans of adults animation you got to the right address.
The movie is creative and gives some tonic vibes.
It's refreshing to see this movie and it is nice to see something that doesn't alike any movie that on the big screen.
The characters are relatable and easy to identify with.
The soundtracks and the songs on the movie are really good and gives cool vibes.
Although the animation and the shots were unique It wasn't the case for the plot.
It was kind of usual classic love story. The plots twist were predictable and on the first half of the movie you could see where it's going to.
And even though it was a cliche it didn't catch me in my feelings and I didn't fluster so much even from the emotional scenes.

Wow! This is a top notch show. The characters (every character, even the secondary ones) are deep. The visuals ans the music are insane. Some say the story is basic. But I am pretty sure that was the goal. How to see awesome characters develop in a normal, rom-com setting. I loved it. Definitely in my top 3 best film of the year. The music scenes are masterpieces. I am a dude by the way, but I lined it was a rom-com setting. The art of the show was overwhelming the rom-com part(which was very good!). It was a praise to art in general, mostly paint and music.
Thank you for your reading. See ya.

This movie gives you the Spiderman Into the Spider-verse vibes into a romantic story with lots hilarious moments.
The story itself feels so real because the characters are down to earth and the situations are just like in real life, with ups and downs.
The conversations between friends bring a lot of joy and help to build up the love story of the main characters.
Eveything just fits right in terms of storytelling. There is great character development, and life-like drama, mixed with memorable comedic situations.
The animation and cinematography help a lot to convey a color style that gets you immersive even more in the story.
Life can be an entergalactic experience!

The story, the soundtrack, the dialogue, and most importantly the visuals - all come at you from different directions pleasantly triggering your senses. The frames per second are lower than 24, yet the movements seem so natural. Facial expressions so real. Emotional reactions so relatable. Lights so beautiful. Moments so memorable.
Kid Cudi's soundtracks really elevate the scenes with emotions and work as excellent transitions from one mood to the next. The art direction and coherency of visuals stitched together is remarkable, and very unique.
I put on the film with zero expectations, and here I am writing an 8* review for one of my favorites of the year.

It must be the graphics and the artwork but I actually put my phone down to enjoy this little show. A basic love story with a simple plot but the transitions in between scenes are quite captivating. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to anyone but anyone who watches it won't be disappointed. A lot of all star cast members behind the voices which I didn't catch until looking up the show afterwards which is pretty cool. Seemed like a short movie but maybe it is because it sped along and doesn't have many dry parts in it. Kid Cudi features his music throughout the movie which is nice given his soft melodic style. All in all, I wouldn't watch it again but I won't argue with anyone who says it is worth watching.

Apart from the good animation, there's nothing special about this film. Everything else is just basic. The film isn't that long but I got tired of watching it midway and only got to finish it after forcing myself. From the name and animation, I expected something good but I can say that it was a disappointment. I think what made me have high expectations of it is the fact that the theme and animations kind of resemble those of Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse which was a masterpiece.
I'm not that surprised because the quality of films and creativity therein has deteriorated over the last 8 years. How I wish for someone to trailblaze a new dawn in the film industry.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The whole vibe of it. The music set right with it, too, although I can't say I'm a fan. It was somewhat predictable, but I still enjoyed the trip, and the art style is similar to Into The Spider-Verse...beautifully drawn, and the resemblance to the actual actors is appreciated. I believe that's what allowed the actors to really be able to bring their emotions through the animation. It's surprising how you can just bond to the characters so quickly, I doubt this would have the same effect in live action. Ii read in one of the other reviews that someone was told you need to be buzzed or high. Yeah, nah, just watch it. It's one of those late night just chill and vibe type of movies. Get a date, some snacks, grab a blanket, dim the lights, cuddle up on the couch and just enjoy.

I don't usually watch romance movies, but I could very much feel the cliche in this movie, it definitely follows a script that a lot of other romance movies use. Other than that, the art is amazing and feels very inspired by spiderman into the spider verse which I think released in 2020. I'm not a huge kid cudi fan, I do like some of his music and he definitely did an amazing job on this one, although the album probably doesn't make a lot of sense unless you watched the movie before It's a fun movie I could sympathize with, but I wouldn't watch it for the romance itself rather for the art and music.

To intertwined art, fashion, music and love I couldn't have asked for anything more. Such a creative way of creating an adult animation that's relatable and honest. I love the complexities of Jabari trying to juggle love, friendship and work. It's something we all do everyday. I felt like through this movie, I've met some like Jabari; chill, honest, charming and super creative. And what make him even more cool was that his art I could see around big cities like New York, Oakland or even Los Angeles. I can honestly say this movie made me fall in love with Jabari, lol. And the music brought the animation together. I would watch this over and over agin. Hell, maybe have this a first date movie :) Kenya Barris is such an amazing director. I hope there is more to this series.
P. S those who said this series was boring and predictable wasn't looking at the bigger picture. Is shivery completely dead, we can't appreciate it when we see it in films???

The influencer also mentioned the fact that the one who is a fan of Spider-Man into the universe will automatically approve this work of One an amazing group of illustrators and artists. To be honest this is a masterpiece in the world of animation, the way creators talk about the process of putting film together couldn't be more inspiring. As a pro-comics person I grew really fond of it. But let's eat this cake piece by piece.
Story line- must be a cliché - Nice guy - Lovely soulmate\roommate girl - Bitchy ex-girlfriend. But the fact of not been made for typical viewer but for a specific category makes me think that it worth applauds for making way more enchanting then most of classic stories. Not only blackness makes this work better but a casualty which is given by friends, career, whole world that surrounds main characters. The simplicity is handsome. The tragedy, the love, the fear and passion - the life itself is a search for your way in a world of someone else's choices.
Art takes special place both in story line and film itself. Through hour and a half, we are invited to watch two worlds in one view of the director pictured by artists. Those guys had been carefully putting in various pop culture Easter eggs and partly let the art be one of the main characters. And all of it becomes dull by the fact that the whole film is a supporting illustration for a new album of a famous rapper Kid Cudi.
Galaxy is not only making title but shows the inner passion of main characters visually. That is the way author have chosen as a description of the specific feeling of mutual love. It may be or may not be the right way from your point of view - author feels it that way To conclude with, I couldn't think of anything else then genius way of telling the story this way over the time I had been watching Entergalactic. Hope to see more of something like that sooner or later.

I was scrolling through Netflix on a Saturday night . I'm a very picky person so I can't just watch anything. After hour I give this Movie a try. I really messed with the first 15 mins the movie so I decided I will watch it. It reminded of myself so this movie really clicked with me. The animation is really great, the music 🎵 is evidently from Kid Cudi. I'm definitely going to bump his music from the movie afterwards it was really fire 🔥. I feel like the movie should get at least 8/9 ratings so that's why I'm rating it right now. Not really Kid Cudi fan but definitely listening more of his music. Hopefully Kid Cudi makes more animation b/c this was dope.
Serie/movie reminded me a bit of spider-man into the spider-verse. Its different and has a nice story.
As a Cudi fan I ofcourse loved the music, this was amplified because of the nice dolby sound system I've got. The visuals were great, different, and sometimes a bit to "laggy/shocking", for me, but not to a level that it was too annoying.
The only thing I got really annoyed with was the overly heavy weed smoking. I know he is known for it, but does it have to be in every scene and every moment, over and over again? At some point it disgusted me (and then it must be really too much, because I live in Amsterdam).
Other then that I think Cudi that a great job and I'll love to see more of him.

I had heard really great things about Entergalactic, and I don't really disagree with most of them. This is a gorgeous, well animated film that takes full use of the medium to elevate its story. And...elevation is definitely what's needed, because what's actually here is quite banal, to be honest.
Fundamentally, Entergalactic is betrayed by a lackluster and frankly, boring, story. It's a story with characters who are too perfect and unrealistically successful at everything, trudging along with silly, surface level conflicts. We aren't getting a complicated, interesting love story; it's almost child like in how it views what relationships are like. For starters, Kid Cudi's Jabari and Jessica William's Meadow are too perfect; there's no hurt or betrayal either indicate stopping them from pursuing a relationship, no career hurdles or disadvantages, no genuine conflicts between them. They instantly fall in love and go from there and the result is a surprisingly boring movie.
Even when there's an opportunity for Jabari to be a morally complex, perhaps unsympathetic character, it's dashed away immediately. I couldn't help but feel the desire for "positive" representation for black characters overrode making them complicated ones.
Yes, there are fun side characters, but none are utilized particularly well. For the talent on display, we don't learn much about the characters played by Timothee Chalemet, Laura Harrier, Ty Dolla Sign, or Jaden Smith. And, while I do generally like Kid Cudi, I was truly annoyed by his auto tuned crooning by the end of the film.
Yeah, I have to say, this was a disappointment. Imagine if this story was live action: it'd be extremely lame. It's essentially the story of a cool guy who gets all the girls, is super successful, and has colourful friends, and yeah everything works out for him. That's it. There's nothing interesting here, nothing to say, no observations, and redeemed only by its animation. It's a pass for me.

I didn't expect the movie to be a romance; I was hoping for a sci-fi film. However, I loved the art style, which reminded me of Spiderman Into the Spider-Verse. The song choices and voice cast were great. The pacing was a bit slow and boring, but the music kept me engaged.
I'm not a fan of the heavy focus on being high and smoking weed in the movie. It's mostly about being high and falling in love while dealing with exes. I'm not really into romance, so this aspect didn't appeal to me.
This movie is not suitable for kids or young children due to some age-inappropriate scenes. It's not for everyone, but I still recommend it.

Not usually into animated shows or movies but I took a chance on Entergalactic because the trailer really intrigued me. Very glad that I did because I ended up absolutely loving it. The animation and design definitely reminds me of the Spider-Verse but it totally works in its favor. Not totally a fan of Kid Cudi's music but some of his tracks that played really worked and set the tone/vibe really well. I also thought all the voice actors fit each character perfectly and they all did a fantastic job. The dialogue was also great and never came off corny or over the top. Not gonna lie, I turned this on thinking I wouldn't sit through more than 20 mins of it yet here I am writing a review for one of the best movies I have seen this year.
