Quite weak film that is definitely trying to promote official Russian position about the war in Ukraine (i.e. "not present" Russian soldiers there).
Along with a lot of such political cliches there are funny obvious factual mistakes such as Ukrainian soldiers wearing Russian camouflage (they just put Ukrainian flags on it). So even from the point of view of standards of good war drama (if not talking about politics) "Donbass. Okraina" is a poor piece.
But the main point is that this film pretend to be "based on a true story", that is a completely untruth.

The film is pointless because from the start to the end it lies and misrepresents. Moreover, it was heartbreaking to see such a talented actor as Gela Meskhi play the central character. It is beyond me to understand what possibly induced him to participate in this disgusting propaganda.
