Director/screenwriter Édouard Bergeon tells the story of his own father, mother and grandfather. He had already done so in his 2012 documentary Les fils de la terre (2012), which convinced producer Christophe Rossignon, also a farmer's son, to turn the story into this feature film.
Was shot in two sections, the first between June and July 2018, the second six months later for three weeks in January 2019.
