A-'List': Bowe, Finerman, NL
NEW YORK -- Kelly Bowe is on board to adapt Jill Smolinski's sophomore novel The Next Thing on My List for Wendy Finerman Prods. and New Line.
The book follows June Parker, a 34-year-old woman whose life changes forever when her new acquaintance from a Weight Watchers meeting dies next to her in a car crash. After finding a list of 20 things her passenger wanted to do before she turned 25, from running a marathon to kissing a stranger, the guilt-ridden June finds new adventures while living out the wishes.
Bowe's writing credits include Before You Go and Parental Guidance.
Finerman recently found chick-lit success producing the adaptation of Aline Brosh McKenna's novel The Devil Wears Prada. Other female-centric films on her resume include Stepmom and the upcoming P.S., I Love You. Smolinski's previous novel was the Hawaii-based romance Flip-Flopped.
New Line's Kathy Busby and Merideth Finn are overseeing the project for the studio. Bowe is repped by CAA and attorney Marcy Morris.
