A televangelist anounces a cataclysmic event at midnight. Familiar words, familiar words . A family- father, mother, their young daughter - are part of audience. But the event.has no place.
In morning, the opinion of wife and husband about the cause of fail of predicztion are radical different. And, in dramatic way, with terrible consequences, the position of lady wins.
The final is bitter at whole.
Easy to define The Cataclysm as a story about credulity, manipulation or total refuge in religion. And, sure, other interpretations are many. But it is only about the human nature, the trust, guilt and radical solutions when you feel excludet. And exactly this makes this short film just special.
