In real life, Connor Kalopsis, who plays 16-year-old 'Brian,' is 3 years younger than 19-year-old Ashley Boettcher, who plays his younger sister, 15-year-old 'Nicole.'
During the first season, 'Kevin Slattery' is mentioned as a boy that 'Nicole' likes. Kevin C. Slattery is the name of one of the show's producers.
Early in the series, the writing didn't reflect the local landmarks. After a perceptive Twitter user from South Jersey pointed out discrepancies between the setting in the show vs. real life, the show began referring to real area landmarks.
In an episode, Kay dresses up as "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" thinking that was Mike's favorite superhero. Caroline Aaron, who plays Mike's mom Sylvia in an episode, plays Shirley on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
