Oh god... I just want to give this an 8 or 9 just because of how good I remember it being. But you know, this just rips off too much of Harry Potter. And the CGI is not good.
I liked watching this, but it's a rip-off of Harry Potter, plain and simple. If it wasn't, this would be way better. When I was 7, I loved this! Now, as an older kid, I do not. Simple.
Well, anyways, the more you think of this show the more you hate it. I have so many good memories of this show. The memories... it hurts so bad giving this a 6 in 2024.
I mean - it's nice to put on every once in a while.
Hey, at least Odd Squad isn't as bad as I though right? RIGHT?! Oh.. oh no....
6/10.

Hilarious but totally silly. Whoever allowed this to go live should seek psychiatric evaluation (pun intended).
As a dog lover and a dog owner, I feel massively offended.

I'm in my 30s and I absolutely adore this show, My inner child finds this show so endearing, It's not only about puppies learning to grow into dogs but how to love each other, their humans and respect every bodies (even cats!) differences
The show also follows some little kids growing up, one without their father but still with the love and support from his other family members.
It's also got good vs evil, magic, mystery and comedy
The dynamic is simply fabulous!

My kids favorite movies are the Buddy movies! This show is now their favorite show. It's funny, cute, and age appropriate for preschool-elementary-middle school aged kids.

This tv show is the last and the worst thing on earth I would watch after Robert Vince ruined the Pup Star franchise with Puppy Star Christmas and Pup Star World Tour, which is the primary reason why none of his future media and productions will ever be a part of my digital purchase streaming collection after the Air Bud and Air Buddies Series. Real dumb and crap-filled entertainment.
Very cute idea to make a fun tv series about puppies who go to a magical school. This show has very much a Harry Potter meets air bud vibe. Fun for kids of all ages, adults may find it a bit boring, but I'm sure the kids will love this. Very imaginative and fun show for dog / Sci- fi / Disney fans.

A stray named Spark is chosen to attend Pup Academy, a magical place where pups learn to be man's best friends. There, she has many adventures with her two best friends, Whiz, a small sheep dog who is smart, but is afraid of sheep, and Corazon, a golden retriever who acts like he's the cool one, and has a tendency to chase his tail, unknown she is one to fulfill a prophecy to keep the constellation Canis Primus from fading, which would sever the bond between humans and canines.
A show made by Air Bud Entertainment, a company infamous for being founded by the man who used to do the Air Buddies movies and has released DTV films with two things in common: talking animals and not being well received by critics and those who watched the films, this is the company's debut show, airing on Disney Channel. While the show is based on a school where pups learn to be man's best friend, it rips off many elements from the Harry Potter franchise (mainly the prophecy, the school having four houses like Hogwarts, Fetchball being like Quidditch, etc). But what gives this a three star is because the characters can be related to (Spark is a stray who never had friends, which some kids may relate to) and the dogs here at least have personality. This is one of those series that, while kids like, adults may not find any interest in.

I watched with my dog and I bonded with her. It made me realize how much I loved her. Perfect show for 8 yr olds that love dogs, like me.
This was just the show I needed to watch to relax and smile! It had enough adventure to be interesting, tons of cute puppies to fulfill my need for dog content, and was a great escape from day to day life. The puppies and people came from different backgrounds and everyone can relate to some pup or person. It was a great watch.

From my perspective as a four-legged mom the script is more than a bit predictable. My Fifi adores watching this series. Fifi is a long hair Chihuahua. Whenever She watches the show she either stands under the TV and barks or lays on the couch or my lap and watches intently.
The technical details are very rough (no pun intended). I would imagine having higher quality animation is costly. I'm actually very surprised that this series passes muster.
Technique aside, the basic scripting is good for those learning English and for our pets. It's pretty easy to follow along and the plot is easy to follow.

Who ever was angry because it's a "Harry Potter" rip-off! Harry Potter isn't original either. It is a children's series. I'm a 50 year old child who doesn't really like HP, because I was there when everyone held the book high in front of them to on the tube to show that they were cool. Pup academy is fun, Extremely cute animals and how can you dislike talking pups? It has it's faults of course, but and the CGI isn't always great, but Children's imagination will ignore it. So sit back with your children and enjoy this little cute series, and if you don't sit with them, it will keep them quiet and you can have a snooze.

This is such a sweet show with interesting, engaging story lines. I read a lot of reviews comparing it to Harry Potter, which I don't agree with. I found the storyline to be original, but with classic gags that kids love. Whatever technology they used to make the dogs "speak" makes the experience more wondrous. Great job to all involved. I truly hope it is renewed.

My daughter loves this series! Pup Academy follows a group puppies who attend an academy to learn how to become dogs. The series has great messages throughout including being kind and helping others. Also, you cannot go wrong with talking dogs! The actors themselves are great too, and the series is a lot of fun for kids and adults to watch together.
Also, I read a few reviews that gave Pup Academy a low rating because it rips off Harry Potter, and I definitely do not agree. Sure you do have a magical school for puppies, but there are plenty of other movies and series that involve magic! So I would recommend not listening to those reviews and giving Pup Academy a watch.
