What are the entertainment offerings that consumers are most excited about? It’s a question that marketers, distributors, advertisers and media publications are always asking.
ScreenShare, a data partnership between Screen Engine/Asi and TheWrap, tracks the Top 10 most-mentioned entertainment options every week and whether each has gained or lost momentum compared to the prior week. The chart lives on the Data & Analysis page of the WrapPRO Members Hub.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” continues its streak at No. 1 for the ninth week in a row. “NFL Football” holds its position at No. 2 while “Venom: The Last Dance” jumps five spots to No. 3 during its opening week. Horror film “Smile 2” continues to climb the list, coming in at No. 4. “MLB Playoffs/World Series” moves up two spots to No. 5 as baseball fans anticipate the “battle of the coasts” between longtime rivals, the LA Dodgers and NY Yankees.
“Wicked” remains steady at No.

Ask any baby and they’ll tell you, nothing beats a good formula. When you’ve got a recipe for success, it makes sense to keep replicating it. At least until it stops working.
Which brings me to screenwriter Michael Kennedy, whose last three scripts have been slasher movies with an elevator-friendly pitch, combining the familiar tropes of a popular horror genre with the familiar tropes of a popular movie. The rightly acclaimed “Freaky,” co-written by Christopher Landon, took the plot of “Freaky Friday” and asked “What if it was a slasher?” The unfairly overlooked “It’s a Wonderful Knife” took the plot of “It’s a Wonderful Life” and asked “What if it was a slasher?”
It’s a fun approach to both the horror genre and family friendly movies alike, and setting those stories in the present day allows for clever new twists and characters whose tales were ignored in the past,...

Just in time for Halloween movie nights, Netflix released the new teen horror movie Time Cut on Oct. 30. It's the perfect addition to a spooky movie night that includes the fan-favorite Netflix original Fear Street trilogy and Don't Move, another recent horror release on the streamer that's shot straight to the peak of the top 10 most popular movies.
Certified Netflix stars Madison Bailey (Kiara in Outer Banks) and Antonia Gentry (Ginny in Ginny & Georgia) lead the teen slasher movie as sisters Lucy and Summer. But Summer doesn't know Lucy exists because she was born 20 years after she was killed by the Sweetly Slasher. Unexpectedly, Lucy goes back in time to 2003 to save her sister from being murdered.

2006’s The Barbie Diaries was one of my favorite Barbie movies ever, despite being derivative of everything of the era, especially Mean Girls. Watching Time Cut had me feeling the same way, but I suppose it didn’t evoke as much of a positive reaction as the other one, and I’ll tell you why. Time Cut follows Lucy, a high schooler whose sister was murdered before she was born. Lucy finds herself wondering what it would’ve been like with her sister alive, only to learn about it when she accidentally time travels to a few days before her sister’s death. Look, the premise is madly intriguing, and that’s also why it’s a difficult film to make. I found myself circling back to the idea of a “wholesome” slasher, a “feel good” horror. Doesn’t make sense at all, yet it makes complete sense, no? Netflix...

As Hilary Duff once said, let's go back, back to the beginning. And in Netflix's new horror movie Time Cut, that's exactly what Lucy does. Outer Banks star Madison Bailey leads the movie as Lucy, a teenager who travels back in time from 2024 to 2003 and must save her sister from being the next victim of the Sweetly Slasher serial killer.
Being a period piece (who else shuddered at the thought of movie taking place in 2003 being a period piece?), Time Cut features a number of throwback songs from the early 2000s, including a signature and iconic cut from the aforementioned pop icon Hilary Duff. If you think these early aughts songs are "so yesterday," think again!
Whether you're a teenager like Lucy or a millennial looking for a little nostalgic blast from the past, you will be entertained by the twists and turns and chills and thrills. But you...

Look, obviously the big news this November is the U.S. presidential election.
But for the moments when you want to look away from wall-to-wall coverage (or just stop doomscrolling), Netflix has plenty to keep you occupied. There’s new original Christmas movies like “Hot Frosty” and “The Merry Gentlemen,” as well as more “Outer Banks” for fans of that show created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke. Plus Oscar contenders like “Emilia Perez” are now streaming on the service. But all of that is just preamble to our No. 1 pick this month, because when Mike Schur has a new television show, it’s time to pay attention.
Top Pick: “A Man on the Inside”
Created by Schur and loosely based on the 2020 documentary “The Mole Agent,” the eight-episode comedy series will star Ted Danson, who volunteers to help a private detective by going undercover at a nursing...

‘Queer’ Trailer: Daniel Craig Seduces Drew Starkey in Luca Guadagnino’s Sexy and Surreal Gay Romance
The trailer for “Queer,” starring Daniel Craig and “Outer Banks” breakout Drew Starkey, has been released by A24. Helmed by “Challengers” and “Call Me By Your Name” director Luca Guadagnino from a screenplay by Justin Kuritzkes, the film is set for a theatrical release starting Nov. 27.
“Queer,” based on the semi-autobiographical novel by William Burroughs, is set in Mexico City during the 1940s and follows William Lee (Craig), an American expat living mostly in isolation among American college students and bar owners. He becomes infatuated with a discharged American Navy serviceman, Eugene Allerton (Starkey), a drug user who eventually becomes involved with Lee after initially being indifferent to his advances. Jason Schwartzman, Lesley Manville and Omar Apollo co-star.
“Queer” had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, where it competed for the Golden Lion. The film went on to screen the Toronto International Film Festival and the New York Film Festival.

Luca Guadagnino officially has two Oscar contenders in the mix — both of which are written by Justin Kuritzkes.
Auteur Guadagnino reunited with his “Challengers” screenwriter Kuritzkes for “Queer,” which Guadagnino commissioned Kuritzkes to adapt from William S. Burroughs’ novella. Check out the trailer for “Queer” below.
Best Actor frontrunner Daniel Craig leads the film as William Lee, a gay expatriate living in Mexico City in the 1940s. Lee becomes fascinated by Eugene Allerton (“Outer Banks” star Drew Starkey), who is a young discharged Navy veteran. The duo embark on a romance, which at times is one-sided; later, they travel to South America for an ayahuasca experience to reach enlightenment.
“Queer” also stars Lesley Manville, Jason Schwartzman, and Omar Apollo. The A24 film debuted at the Venice Film Festival.
Directing “Queer” was a lifelong pursuit for Guadagnino, who said during the Venice press conference that Burroughs’ novel resonated with him decades ago.

Clip Farming has been a recurrent feature on social media which a lot of viewers have expressed annoyance against. Unfortunately, it seems like a popular streaming platform has also jumped on the bandwagon of the trend.
Netflix’s new feature Moments has been introduced so that users can bookmark, rewatch, and share their favorite moments from shows but that is not all. To some this feature seems like a scheme for something else, it would help not only discourage people from taking screenshots but also promote clip farming on the site and related shows.

After three seasons of high-stakes treasure hunts — in search of $400 million, the Cross of Santo Domingo and, most recently, El Dorado — the Pogues finally strike gold at the end of Outer Banks Season 3. Once deemed troublemakers on Kildare Island, the friend group is now celebrated as hometown heroes for putting an end to a 500-year-old mystery and finding El Dorado, the lost city of gold.
But that doesn’t mean their treasure-hunting days are over. In the season finale, 18 months after completing the biggest quest of their lives, the Pogues are approached by an elderly man Wes Genrette (David Jensen) at the commemorative ceremony. The gentleman pulls out a manuscript belonging to the infamous pirate, Blackbeard. It’s a captain’s log with records of the exact locations Blackbeard’s ship sailed to up until 1718, when it was shipwrecked. It’s thought that all of Blackbeard’s precious gold is...

In the comments, fans urged her to just watch the show, but she revealed, sort of, why she actually doesn’t watch it.
“Because he and i have a deal!” she replied to a comment.
