Watched a couple of episodes and its not to bad
The one thing that bugs me though, is how he worked in border patrol for 32 years but he cant speak Spanish and can barely understand it,

Great show! Awesome to see Michael Chiklis back on television again. I just wish the season was a little longer. I knocked out every episode in one night. I'm definitely looking forward to season 2. Thankfully this was a great distraction from all the stuff going on in politics at the moment. 7 stars

I was wondering why this show had a lower rating than I'd expect. Then, I read the reviews. Can't we go 5 mins without bleating about the politics? Basically, the left thought it stereotyped race and the right though it normalised illegal immigration or some such rubbish. The rest of the low scores complained about the fact that the main character Ben couldn't speak Spanish (a fair point which is why I took off a point and settled for an 8).
Anyway, I found Coyote to be well paced with a nicely developing story that gets you quite interested in the characters. Although it's no Breaking Bad, I get the feeling that was where they were aiming.
So, I can thoroughly recommend this if you can leave your politics at the door and enjoy it for the fiction that it is.

Been looking forward to a decent show with Michael Chicklis ever since The Shield has it's days.
He's not as badass as I would have liked, but it's nice to see a well produced show with a somewhat decent story.
I'm just on episode 1 so far so good .
Apparently Mexico is a very violent culture
and many women are forced into situations they don't like .
These women try to escape into the USA illegally .
So a newly retired boarder patrol
Agent , who doesn't speak Spanish. ( obviously odd ) . Becomes the focal point of some of these illegal border crossers.
Some scenes seem poorly planned but overall I enjoyed the performances would have given higher rating but some of the scenes seemed unbelievable.

It seems like trolling TV has replaced watching it as America's favorite pass-time. This show has so much to offer - just turn it on. I just started it to check it out, and before I knew it - I was at the end of episode 2! This show is excellently paced, with action, heart, and wry comedy throughout. It's also a rarity on American TV these days: a nuanced, human portrayal of a complex, divisive issue. Is it perfect? No, but its excellent performances give voice to many perspectives and start a real conversation. The show is a star vehicle for newcomers Emy Mena and George Pullar, introduces otherwise ignorant American audiences to Mexican and Colombian stars like Adriana Paz and Juan Pablo Raba, and of course, Michael Chiklis continues to cement his legacy as one of TV's best.
The shows has some inconsistent moments, but episode 5 is one of the best episodes of TV I've seen in a while, and the show ultimately sets itself up for a fantastic season 2. Did you like Fauda? Watch this show. Did you like Breaking Bad? Watch this show. If you're looking for six episodes of thoughtful high-quality premium television, then just watch the show.

The writers don't seem clear on what they're looking to accomplish, and have trouble going more than skin deep on their characters, including their lead.
Chiklis plays the all too typical screen curmudgeon. A bland, 'law and order' type, a repressed man in late middle age, even duller than your dullest neighbor. It all barely works, and by tomorrow you won't be able to remember even a single line of dialogue.

This has been passed off as a complete first series by the streaming services, when it's actually a part of a series that was abruptly cancelled after the sixth episode. I fell for the fakeout and now wish I hadn't because this story will never be finished.

Great first episode showing much promise and can't wait to watch the rest. I was kind of hoping that Neto was being played by Benito Martinez (Capt. Aceveda from the Shield), and he does have a passing resemblance, but sadly not.
I found it pretty decent, even though Ben didn't speak Spanish., which actually was pretty annoying considering he has been working as a Border Patrol officer for 30 years.
It's far from the quality of The Shield, but it's worth a watch
Another take on it, could be that they continued the 'Vic Mackey' character. He could have got a job as Border Patrol Officer, after the last episode of The Shield, and the series could have continued from there...HE could have got a new wife / divorce etc etc,
I could have been fun, if they have gone that way :-)

They didn't talk to an actual border agent or ignored everything they said. Really? An agent that doesn't speak Spanish AND has a realestate investment in an area controlled by a crime syndicate he's totally ignorant about? Also had no Bush experience, can't lose a tail and no idea how to track or cover tracks? Ignorant and lazy. Don't waist your time on this one.

Michael Chiklis and Juan Pablo Raba lead this great series about an interesting story around the US-Mexico border.
First, acting is pretty good. Michael is back. Even he is not as good as in The Shield he is still believable and a good actor. Juan Pablo is one of the most Colombian talented actors (watch Distrito Salvaje) and here he does a great job.
Second, the storyline is well developed on this first season and 6 episodes are the perfect choose.
Last, scenarios are top notch. Calexico and Tijuana looks pretty cool also the camera/drone work.
So, overall if you like Mexican-Cartel border action series this one is for you. Great Michael's comeback and Juan Pablo's consolidation.

Loved the twists and turns . So many WTF moments. A lot of layers and complicated family issues tied together with Cartel gang violence. We really enjoyed it . The six episodes went way to fast.

This show does not have an ending. It is left on a cliff hanger with another season expected however there is no more. Poof it's gone!
Would've been better if they had wrapped it up quickly. Even if the cartel family had a blow up and killed themselves off. At least then there would have been a conclusion. Or maybe even an end credit scene showing the arrest of the cartel and Ben in jail. There are so many different ways they could have concluded the series even on short notice. Why not run text at the end with a wrap up. Nope they just end it with the viewer expecting more and resorting to IMDB to see if there is more somewhere... anywhere... alas there is not. Just another series ended before it truly ends.

I loved it and i definitely am upset that it doesn't have more episodes. Awesome performances from all the cast members. Never a boring moment. There was way to much going on to end after 6 episodes with no word on a return.

The right-wingers are predictably whining about this. Just ignore them. After a couple of episodes, this seems to be a very good show.
Don't bother starting this series unless you like disappointment. The show itself was pretty good but at the end of the last episode...no resolution of the story lines? No cliffhangers, no nothing, not even a "To be continued"? It was like following a thread just to run into a brick wall. The 6 episodes were released on January 7th but as of September 11th, 8 months later, there have been no further episodes, nor does an online search reveal whether more episodes are even coming. I looked and looked but no one seems to be making any kind of decision about this show, and I for one would like to see it continued. I wish I had known before watching. Then I could've opted for something with at least some kind of resolution and wouldn't have wasted my time.

I did not think I would like this it ended up loving it. It was raw in emotional and philosophical scenes while also feeling quite authentic. Expressing how real life is so much more complicated than a black and white world we think it is.
I hope the show gets to continue. As it was compelling. The show doesn't try to force you to pick one side or the other in the immigration issue. But does allow you to ponder the million shades of gray between the black and white views of people in the subject

I learned basic Spanish from working in a Las Vegas Casino for 3 years. The Lead Character is a Border Patrol agent with 32 years service, had a Mexican partner and couldn't speak any Spanish? How does that get a green light? It's a horrible script but I laughed a few times.
This is a great watch! Already thoroughly enjoying.
