Goofs
Incorrectly Regarded as Mistake: attorney-client privilege does not apply in circumstances where no legal advice was sought (all Dean asked for was information about a woman's death and where she was buried, not his court case) or in conversations where information aided/abetted a criminal act. Both are true for Dean and Mara's conversation, therefore she has to tell Henriksen and does not have privilege.

Solid episode but we get it: there is a ton of prison movies

This is a solid, if not an outstanding, episode. The script forwards the FBI wanted subplot organically by coming up with a nice case. Dean utterly fitting in at prison is pleasing as yup that is the social misfit we all love. Sam having different moral sensibilities as Dean is pleasing as well. There are just two downsides.

The first is the lawyer character is a plot device and her final act it utterly unbelievable because there is no set-up. (Just have her clam up instead?). Second, there are a ton of references to prison (or cop) shows/movies in this thing. They feel really stuck on for no reason. The French Connection reference is especially odd. The show had a bad tendency to do this at times-wearing its influences on its sleeve-but it is really pitched here.
