The zombie horror comedy Buck Wild will be coming to town this February. New zombie comedy 'Buck Wild' sees a devastating Chupacabra virus turning the locals into the walking dead. And Millennium Entertainment are the guys responsible for dropping it onto DVD this coming March. The Tyler Glodt ('The Eves') helmed zomedy will get an earlier VOD run starting on the 18 February stateside before it makes its way onto DVD one month later on the 18 March. Seven Below is the latest horror thriller from Kevin Carraway (The Fear Chamber). This is a ghost story starring Val Kilmer, Ving Rhames and Luke Goss. A group of travellers find themselves tormented by spirits in an isolated cabin. And a storm outside means that there is no way to escape. The first poster for Seven Below solidifies this haunting, trapped feeling.

Seven Below will be shown at the American Film Market, which is the largest gathering of independent films during the year (in North America). The festival begins November 2nd this year, with Seven Below showing November 5th. Hopefully, this title will find distribution at its World Premiere as horror fans could likely use a few more chills in their lives.

When you hear that Ving Rhames and Val Kilmer are joining the same film, you might assume it's an action movie. However, 'Seven Below,' directed by Kevin Carraway (of 'The Fear Chamber' -- yeah, we haven't heard of it either), is not. In fact, the premise sounds more horror-centric than anything.

'Seven Below' is about a group of strangers who are trapped in a house in the woods during a terrible storm. They soon discover that something very bad happened there 100 years ago, and the group ends up in a "ghostly time warp," whatever that means.

There are three horror or thriller titles releasing next week beginning November 2nd. The period action piece Centurion will release on DVD and Blu-Ray formats, with the Blu-Ray offering nine special features. Also releasing is the Blu-Ray copy of the 2007 sleeper hit Funny Games, which will only offer bare extras. Finally, Once Fallen will release through First Look International; the film stars Ed Harris (Waking the Dead), Richard Tyson (The Fear Chamber), and Peter Weller. The Red Princess Blues is a short film from The Enigma Factory, which is approximately ten minutes long. The short is meant as a promotional piece for a larger production and starring are Richard Tyson (The Fear Chamber), Tabithat Morella ("Two and a Half Men"), Rachel Grant (The Tournament) and narrator Robert Forster. Visually stunning, mature, and creating excitement through action sequences, the Red Princess Blues is like watching a darkly written fairy tale. To move towards a feature length film soon, this is a film to watch simply for the visual appeal.

Passed the Door of Darkness is another Echo Bridge Entertainment release that will be displayed on DVD shelves April 27th. This title is also a Darc Light production like The Fear Chamber and the film is reviewed here. Passed the Door of Darkness lives up to the Darc Light name by keeping the first third of the film in complete darkness. This Peter Mervis endeavour feels incomplete despite a compelling story. Ultimately, Passed the Door of Darkness cannot be promoted as a quality film due to technical errors.

This reviewer almost turned the film off twenty minutes in as the picture was in complete shadows. However, patience kicked in and thankfully thirty minutes later Mervis had turned the lights on. Yet, many others will not be as patient with the film. Although, Passed the Door of Darkness recovers from these early technical faults in lighting,...

Echo Bridge Entertainment is one of the biggest distributors of independent films in North America. The Fear Chamber was released by Echo April 27th on DVD. Now, the film makes its way to a local mailbox to be dissected here. Unfortunately, this gift might be best sent back to the sender. The central character in the film Nick Ferguson played by Rhett Giles is uncompelling and the acting of Ferguson in this feature is very poor. The lack of exterior sets, poor acting, and almost total absence of the killer from the early parts of picture makes the film unrecommendable.

The character Ferguson stumbles through scenes devoid of dialogue to the viewer's misfortune. If the character is going to be wandering around in an isolated locale at least give the guy some lines to work with. Everybody talks to themselves a little bit,...

Nightlight Films has acquired North American distribution rights for gory horror flick "The Fear Chamber."
