- Mr. Van Dyke arrives with his son to discuss the purchase of an inventor's latest creation. While they confer, Sonny, the inventor's son, takes Van Dyke Junior to the local hop where he blatantly flirts with Sonny's girlfriend.
- An inventor receives at his house the possible purchaser of one of his inventions, Mr. Van Dyke, who has come in the company of his son. While seller and purchaser are busy talking about the terms of the sale, Sonny, the inventor's son, and Van Dyke Jr. go to a ball. The trouble is that Van Dyke Jr. makes the heads of all the girls present turn, including that of Sonny's sweetheart. Several dancers, annoyed by the attitude of Van Dyke Jr., manhandle him. Upset by the treatment given to his son, Van Dyke Sr. decides to cancel the purchase. But, thanks to a scheme by Sonny and a friend, the deal is finally closed, leaving one unexpected victim, Van Dyke Jr.—Daniel Collin

Annoyed with his attitude, several dancers trounce the kid and, distressed at this treatment, Van Dyke Senior cancels his purchase. Sonny, however, comes up with a favorable solution.
