I have just started watching Sophie on CBC.ca, and found it to be a smart, clever series. Sadly, it has already been canceled by the CBC. Sure, some of the characters are very hammy and over-the-top, but they do grow on you with their little quarks. Plus, they provide good foil for Sophie (Natalie Brown), who is the glue holding this show together. (Not to mention that Ms. Brown is very easy on the eyes.) Given the half-hour time format, I was expecting a typical sit-com in the veins of "How I met your mother" (where is the plot going with the current season?). Instead, I got a lighthearted drama that deals with the challenges and rewards of relationships. There is no comedy for comedy's sake here. This show would have been worth watching CBC for.

Sophie was a decent but short lived Canadian comedy series. Natalie Brown was a good actor as Sophie who is left and becomes a single mother with a career and ambitions. The stories were sometimes a bit much (the characters too) but it was a guilty pleasure of a show for me.
