When this show was rerun on 31 December 1958, A special intro showing the Nelsons getting ready to go out to a formal New Year's party is shown.
At the end of the episode, a delivery man returns the notebook that Ricky said he had left on a truck while he tied his shoe. The family tended to think it was an excuse to cover the fact that he hadn't finished his notebook. When Ozzie mentioned this to the delivery man (Herb Vigran) he set up a rather elaborate joke to close the show. The delivery man launched into a detailed explanation of why parents should trust their children to establish their self-confidence, otherwise they may be left with "a neurosis or an emotional disturbance that could stay with him the rest of his life." When the extended advice session was finished, Ozzie thanks the delivery man again. "It was awfully nice of you to bring it over, Mr., uh . . ." The man answers, "Freud. Buster Freud."
