Warning, landlubbers! If the headline didn't give it away, this article contains major spoilers for "Moana 2."
We've seen our favorite characters sail across the ocean, help the demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) to restore the heart of Te Fiti, and save Moana's (Auli'i Cravalho) people and bring them back to their seafaring roots — now, "Moana 2" has teed them up for their biggest challenge yet. The long-awaited sequel has all the makings of unleashing a massive storm at the box office this Thanksgiving weekend, which means fans will soon be flocking to theaters to catch the blockbuster and judge for themselves whether it can live up to the sky-high expectations set by the 2016 original. All signs seem to be pointing that way (as you can see from /Film's review by Bj Colangelo), setting up this franchise as a juggernaut for years to come. Next up will be the live-action remake,...

Last year's Hollywood strikes saw many highly anticipated movies slip into 2025, including The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
So far, we've seen only a handful of set photos and a couple of leaked trailers but, as we write this, that's more than enough for us to say this reboot stands a chance of being the best superhero movie released in theaters next year.
It's a bold statement, we know, and that's why we've gone in-depth with the main reasons Marvel Studios' take on its First Family has us so incredibly excited. However, in the interest of keeping things fair, we're also sharing a few concerns we have about the long-awaited reboot.
To check those out, you juts need to click on the "Next"/"View List" buttons below.

Then, Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios officially announced that this cinematic universe, which is being referred to as The Twisted Childhood Universe, is building up to the crossover movie Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, which will be released in 2025. Now, Deadline has confirmed that Martin Portlock, who plays Peter Pan in Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, will be reprising the role in Poohniverse.

Scarlett Johansson is one of the highest-paid actresses in the industry, especially after the paycheck that she received from Marvel Studios for playing Black Widow. However, it turns out, even after getting her own solo film after the paycheck that she received for her work in The Avengers films, there is one actress that eclipses her net worth big time.

The X-Men are one of the most popular groups to ever make their presence felt on any screen. Whether you watched the classic Fox X-Men movies, tuned into the game-changing animated series in the '90s, or indeed even read the source material, the X-Men's appeal has been everlasting. For a time there, they were even more famous than The Avengers, as the the mutants were among the best-known Marvel characters long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe even existed.
But here's the thing: The MCU does exist now, and fans have been longing for the X-Men to take part in it. And ever since the Disney / Fox merger in 2019, the universe has been slowly setting the stage for that to happen. We have gotten crumbs, nods, and references along the way, with two of the biggest acknowledgements coming earlier this year. X-Men '97 marked the first Marvel Studios produced X-Men project,...

Kevin Feige might have bigger plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically with Avengers: Secret Wars and also possibly Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. Given the scale of Avengers: Endgame, it can be assumed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe might never be the same after the Multiverse Saga ends with Secret Wars.

One theory that has been floating around is that Secret Wars will serve as a soft reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. How that will happen remains a subject of intense debate. However, a theory can be pieced together from small bits of information dolled out by Kevin Feige, who is excited to have the Fantastic Four and the X-Men in the MCU, sharing a screen with The Avengers and other heroes.

Superhero movies and action thrillers are famous for being box office magnates, drawing audiences to the theatres in multitude. Although Barbie was an unexpected (and worthy) hit, films like The Avengers and Top Gun 2 have long dominated the business.
Wicked | Credit: Universal Pictures
However, their dominance might be challenged, and that too by a musical despite the underwhelming performance of Joker 2. Against all odds, Ariana Grande-starrer Wicked seems to be emerging as the next big thing at the box office.

Here’s why the Spider-Man suit disappointed Tom Holland (Photo Credit – Instagram)
When Tom Holland first slid into the iconic Spider-Man suit, he expected to feel like a superhero. But instead, he was disappointed. Why? His suit wasn’t ready, so he had to borrow his stunt doubles. And guess what? It didn’t fit. At all. “It wasn’t quite as heroic as I would have hoped,” Tom said. “He was much bigger than I was. So when I wore the first Spider-Man costume, it was kind of baggy and saggy around the face and stuff.” It was not precisely the Spidey debut he had in mind.
But here’s the twist: Tom was still living the dream despite the suit being slightly off. The kid who always felt too small—especially in rugby class—was now part of the Avengers. And that’s a flex. Tom grew up feeling out of place.

Here’s why Scarlett Johannson refused to play a Trans character (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Scarlett Johansson pulled the plug on her Rub & Tug role faster than we could say “bad casting call.” She was all set to play Dante “Tex” Gill—a 1970s transgender crime boss—until the internet blew up over it. The issue? The Avengers star isn’t trans, and the LGBTQ+ community wasn’t having it. Cue the backlash.
At first, Scarlett went into full defense mode, pointing fingers at other actors who played trans characters. “Criticism can be directed to Jeffrey Tambor, Jared Leto, and Felicity Huffman’s reps,” she quipped. Not the best move. Trans advocates like Jamie Clayton and Transparent star Trace Lysette weren’t thrilled. Lysette tweeted, “I wouldn’t be as upset if I was getting in the same rooms as Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett for cis roles, but we know that’s not the case.

Something Wicked this way comes in this week’s film quiz, with 30 all-new film-related questions, some of them about witchy business…
A movie version of Wicked has been a long time coming down the yellow brick road and this week’s new release still only covers the first half of the smash-hit Broadway musical. Meanwhile, this week’s film quiz is themed around witches but there are also questions about werewolf and vampire movies, slasher-movie villains, found-footage horror… heck, it’s looking more like a Halloween quiz than some of our Halloween ones.
Once you’ve completed all three rounds of movie-related questions, you’ll find a link to a separate post with the correct answers at the bottom of this post. As always, this is just for fun, but please let us know how you did in the comments (scores out of 31 this week!) and give us any other lovely feedback.

Samuel L. Jackson As Nick Fury (Photo Credit – Hotstar)
So, Samuel L. Jackson was always meant to be Nick Fury, right? Well, guess what? It’s not as straightforward as you might think. The wild truth behind how Jackson scored the role goes back to the early 2000s when Marvel decided to give their classic Nick Fury a complete makeover. Enter Ultimate Nick Fury, a new, badass version of the character who just so happened to look exactly like Samuel L. Jackson. That wasn’t a coincidence—writer Mark Millar loved Jackson so much that he made the character’s design based on him.
Jackson had no clue he was about to become a comic book icon, but he didn’t wait around once he saw himself in print. He picked up the phone, called his agents, and had them contact Marvel. Marvel said, “Whoops, sorry! But yeah, we’ll...

GQ is a magazine that focuses on fashion, style and culture for men. If they say that this or that guy is one of the best-dressed people alive, I'm willing to take it on faith. So congratulations to House of the Dragon star Ewan Mitchell for being named one of the best-dressed guests at GQ's Men of the Year event.
GQ also profiled Mitchell, which gave him a chance to talk about playing the vengeful, one-eyed Aemond Targaryen on House of the Dragon, but today's it's all about the fashion. Apparently he's wearing Dior, which makes really long coats with subtle verical stripes:

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has continued to grow in recent years with new characters and storylines emerging on the film and streaming side of things. Despite its relative downturn in form, the franchise has always been fertile ground for theory crafting. However, not all these theories always pan out and some have aged poorly.

One of these theories, that aged badly, involves Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, with fans arguing that he is responsible for giving Josh Brolin’s Thanos the scars on his face. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to branch out beyond the borders of the world that it is set in, excitement is high for the titles that are coming next; and for good reason, too, as the Multiverse Saga has been reinvigorated in recent months due to the successful releases of both Deadpool and Wolverine and Agatha All Along.
Now, we turn our attention to the projects that are coming out next, with Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps set to make their presence felt on the big screen, and Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, and Wonder Man all set to premiere on Disney Plus.
Could we see any classic Marvel multiversal cameos in any of those projects? Well it's not exactly multiversal, but we know that Elden Hensen (Foggy Nelson), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), and Ayelet Zurer (Vanessa Fisk) will reprise their roles...

Marvel Studios did what many thought was impossible in 2012 by assembling Earth's Mightiest Heroes in The Avengers. A sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron, followed three years later before the stakes increased exponentially in Infinity War and Endgame.
With the end of the Multiverse Saga rapidly approaching, this era of storytelling will be capped off with Doomsday and Secret Wars. Beyond that, the plan is reportedly for the MCU to be softly rebooted, likely leading to recastings and the X-Men and Fantastic Four calling the Sacred Timeline home.
But what of The Avengers? We're sure they'll still have an important role to play and, in this feature, we're exploring the way the franchise can evolve in a new MCU. From new locations to the type of stories being told and the team's place in this shared world moving forward, we have a lot of thoughts on where they go from here.

Robert Downey Jr. Fought Marvel To Protect His Avengers Co-Stars From Being Fired. ( Photo Credit – Flickr )
So here’s the tea: Robert Downey Jr. nearly dipped out of the MCU over a pay dispute. In 2013, after Iron Man 3 made a boatload of cash, Rdj wasn’t having it with Marvel’s paychecks. He’d already raked in an excellent $70-$80 million from The Avengers, but after that solo flick crushed it, he figured it was time for a significant pay bump. And he wasn’t just looking out for himself—he was about to go to bat for his entire crew.
Imagine this: Rdj hints to Jon Stewart on The Daily Show that he might retire if Marvel doesn’t meet his salary demands. He casually says, “I don’t know. I had a long contract with them, and now we’ll renegotiate.” Fans were shaken, wondering if this...

Although highly regarded as a theater star — he earned a Tony nomination in 2006 for “Awake and Sing!” and just returned years later to Broadway in “The Price” — Mark Ruffalo is for most people a bona fide movie star. For his film performances, he has been nominated for three Oscars, two Golden Globes and four Screen Actors Guild Awards, winning one as part of the ensemble cast of “Spotlight” in 2015.
These days, however, Ruffalo’s greatest fame is largely thanks to his being part of the Marvel universe, having taken over the roles of Dr. Bruce Banner and The Hulk in 2012’s “Marvel’s The Avengers.” After a cameo performance in 2013’s “Iron Man 3,” Ruffalo’s Hulk also appeared in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” in 2015, “Thor: Ragnarok” in 2017 and the final “The Avengers” movies.

The Jurassic Park franchise is one of the biggest in Hollywood history. First exploding onto the scene in 1993 with Steven Spielberg's triumphant box-office champion Jurassic Park, the film series continued with two sequels throughout the '90s and early 2000s before going dormant for over a decade. It then returned with a vengeance in 2015 with Jurassic World, which exceeded its iconic predecessor at the box office and subsequently produced two more larger-than-life sequels.
The Jurassic World chapter concluded with Dominion in 2022 but its success ensured that the franchise would continue beyond that. A new sequel titled Jurassic World: Rebirth was announced for the summer of 2025, and it has since added a very star-studded cast to its name. That cast includes Marvel icon Scarlett Johansson, Bridgerton sensation Jonathan Bailey, Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali, and Dead Boy Detectives star David Iacono.

Singham Again Box Office Collection Day 17 (Early Trends) Update! (Photo Credit – Instagram)
The stakes are high as Singham Again is made on a reported budget of over 300 crores. Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty’s cop drama is dwindling at the box office amid strong competition from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. It has shown some growth on the third Sunday. But unfortunately, it is not enough. Stay tuned for the early trends of day 17.
The Avengers of the cop universe is the fifth installment after Singham, Singham Returns, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi. It enjoyed decent pre-release hype, and the trailer was well-received. Even the spot bookings were tremendous during the Diwali holidays. However, the mixed word-of-mouth gradually impacted the footfalls, and its competitor, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, took the lead in daily earnings.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe loves sequels. Heck, if you think about it; 33 of its 34 movies are essentially sequels, carrying on the story of the shared universe that first made its presence felt in 2008's Iron Man. But even if you don't class them as sequels, there are sequels within the franchise.
Within the 34 movies, Iron Man was the star of his own trilogy, as was Captain America, Ant-Man, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Spider-Man. Thor has produced four movies thus far, while fourth installments of the Spider-Man and Captain America franchises are on the way too. Oh yeah, and The Avengers have led four movies thus far, with two more in development.
But sequels aren't guaranteed, as recent reports suggest that Eternals 2, Ant-Man 4, and Captain Marvel 3 may have been scrapped by the studio after their predecessors underperformed. And that raises questions about some of the other sequels that...

(Welcome to Tales from the Box Office, our column that examines box office miracles, disasters, and everything in between, as well as what we can learn from them.)
It almost feels like an unwritten rule that if a franchise exists for long enough, a big crossover must happen. From worlds colliding on the small screen dating back to "I Love Lucy" meeting Superman in "Lucy and Superman" to massive crossovers on the big screen in comic book movies like "The Avengers," it's a tradition in Hollywood that goes back decades. So, inevitably, after nearly 30 years spanning multiple shows and movies, the time came for "Star Trek" to boldly go where it had never gone before.
1994's "Star Trek: Generations" united the two most famous Starfleet captains to ever live; William Shatner's James T. Kirk and Patrick Stewart's Jean-Luc Picard. Despite being separated by decades, science fiction shenanigans allowed...

Josh Brolin is a huge fan of nicotine pouches.
During an appearance on Marc Maron‘s Wtf podcast, the 56-year-old Dune actor revealed that he uses nicotine pouches constantly after giving up chewing tobacco and nicotine lozenges.
Keep reading to find out more…“My wife [Kathryn] would hear this in the middle of the night,” Josh said, imitating the sound of chewing.
“I don’t even know I’m doing it, I’m asleep,” he added. “I have a pouch in my lip, and I’m not f–king lying, 24 hours a day.”
According to Yale Medicine, nicotine pouches do not contain tobacco and “are tucked in between a person’s lip or cheek and gums; the nicotine is absorbed into their bloodstream through mucous membranes in their mouth.”
Josh went on to say that he switched to pouches after experiencing some bad side effects from the lozenges.

There have been rumours about a World War Hulk (or World War Hulks) movie for at least the past couple of years. Recently, we heard that the plan now is for Mark Ruffalo's Smart Hulk to evolve into the villainous Maestro, potentially giving that movie its big bad.
Throw in the fact we've recently met She-Hulk and The Leader's role in President Ross becoming Red Hulk in next year's Captain America: Brave New World - oh, and Abomination's trip to Kamar Taj - and there are enough players on the board to make this event a reality.
Of course, there are always more Hulks.
In this feature, we take a look at six of the most exciting possible additions to a World War Hulk movie, regardless of the direction Marvel Studios takes the story in. Whether it's another evolution of Bruce, Hulked-out heroes, or key supporting players, there's a good mix here.

It began with 2008’s “Iron Man,” a film that introduced the world to Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark with the hint that he could be part of something greater. Over 30 films later, the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still being told, albeit with various tributaries and detours that introduce new characters and new worlds that may or may not cross paths one day. Each film in the MCU stands on its own to some degree, but like building blocks, they all connect as part of one interconnected universe. And in that way, watching the Marvel movies in order tells one grand story.
There are a couple of different ways to watch the Marvel movies in order, but below we run down how to watch the MCU in chronological and release date order. Indeed, some films like “Captain Marvel” and “Captain America: The First Avenger” are full-on prequels...

Robert Downey Jr.’s Pay In This Avengers Film Was More Than Mark Ruffalo’s Franchise Earnings (Photo Credit – Instagram)
If you thought playing Hulk would bring in monster paychecks, think again! Mark Ruffalo, the man who smashed his way into The Avengers as Bruce Banner, didn’t exactly see his bank account grow as fast as his fan base. While he became an MCU staple, his earnings didn’t quite reach superhero levels—especially next to his co-star Robert Downey Jr.
Here’s the kicker: Downey pulled a jaw-dropping $75 million from Avengers: Endgame alone, a single paycheck that outshined Ruffalo’s entire career as the Hulk. Yes, you read that right! Ruffalo might’ve been throwing down in Endgame, but Downey was cashing in like no other.
Ruffalo’s MCU journey started with a $3 million payday for his debut in The Avengers back in 2012. He earned the same for Age of Ultron,...

Who Was The Second Highest-Paid Avengers Actor in Avenger Movies? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Robert Downey Jr. led the charge regarding cashing in on saving the world. His Iron Man paycheck was in a league of its own, but right behind him? Scarlett Johansson, a.k.a. Black Widow, also raked in some serious coin. As the MCU’s first major female superhero, she proved she wasn’t just “one of the guys” in the lineup but a top earner in the Avengers crew, going from a million-dollar gig to landing a huge payout for Age of Ultron.
Johansson’s MCU climb started back in Iron Man 2 (2010) with a $400,000 paycheck—not too shabby for a debut, but barely a hint of what was coming. By The Avengers in 2012, she’d jumped to a clean million. But by Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015? She was raking in a cool $20 million. At that point,...

It was difficult picking the five best comic books of the week. For example, Aliens Vs. Avengers No. 2 was phenomenal, adding to the Alien movie lore that fans loved, along with some tragic moments and well-known Marvel Comics characters. There was also Kelly Thompson’s Birds of Prey which continues to be a must-read series. Nevertheless, I had to break it down to the top five.
Let’s start with the pick of the week (another tough selection).
Absolute Superman No 1. Image courtesy DC Comics Absolute Superman (pick of the week)Writers: Jason AaronArtists: Rafa Sandoval
DC Comics put the right creative team on Absolute Superman. Jason Aaron’s revision of Krypton made for a deeper take on Jor-El and Lara-El. Using the caste system to make a point isn’t something I thought I’d see in comics, but it’s undeniably good. Combine that with Rafa Sandoval’s...

Mark Ruffalo has become synonymous with the Marvel superhero Hulk over the years. But unlike some of his predecessors, he doubted he’d ever get his own official Hulk film.

Ruffalo has been playing Marvel’s Hulk since 2012’s The Avengers movie. But unlike Eric Bana and Edward Norton before him, Ruffalo’s monstrous counterpart has only been seen in superhero team-up films. In an interview with Empire (via Contact Music), Ruffalo asserted that he wasn’t against doing a Hulk solo feature. He even shared what he wanted to see in a potential Hulk sequel.
“Who knows where these things will go,” Ruffalo said. “But as Bruce is able to impress his will on the Hulk – going into The Hulk and being inside the Hulk when he’s raging – The Hulk’s will is...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe knows a thing or two about intimidating villains. The franchise has mastered the superhero movie format since it first debuted back in 2008 with Iron Man and it has continued to perfect it over the years.
Sure, there have been some misses along the way, with fans often considering a number of the antagonists in those earlier movies among the franchise's weakest. There have also been some truly fantastic Marvel Comics villains who have been let down by their respective MCU adaptations. And then there are the truly magnificent villains, the ones that have stayed on the minds of audiences in the years since their arrival: The Winter Soldier, the Vulture, Loki, and the almighty Thanos (just to name a few).
Yes, the MCU has given us all kinds of villains. Large purple aliens intent on wiping out half of the population, revenge-driven god butchers with a desire to wipe out Thor,...

Marvel has dropped the trailer for the third and final season of its animated anthology series “What If…?”, spotlighting more humor and spectacle. The alternate multiverse, led by a host of new characters, gets pushed to wacky extremes through the exploration of different genres.
One of the standouts is X-Men’s Storm as the self-proclaimed Goddess of Thunder, voiced by Alison Sealy-Smith, who played Storm in Disney+ series “X-Men ’97” and the original 1990s “X-Men” cartoon series. She’s a bit of a change of pace from Howard the Duck (voiced by Seth Green), who is back for a final flight.
Other characters mutating their way into Season 3 include Captain America/Sam Wilson, The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes, Hulk/Bruce Banner, The Red Guardian, Captain Peggy Carter, Agatha Harkness, and Shang-Chi. Plus, Jeffrey Wright’s omniscient Watcher returns as narrator. There are hints of Red Guardians and mechs, a Western and musical comedy.

Deadpool & Wolverine was a massive hit, surpassing the $1 billion mark and becoming the second highest-grossing film of the year, only trailing Inside Out 2. Fans embraced the movie, which is the most important factor for the franchise’s future, despite mixed reviews from critics.
The film is known for its abundance of Easter Eggs and cameos, thanks to Marvel’s access to a wide range of characters and properties, many of which made it into the final cut. However, several Easter Eggs didn’t make the final selection.
In a recent podcast appearance, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy shared more insights about the film, particularly about the Easter Eggs. Levy revealed that several Fox-related cameos were planned or briefly included, some of which may have flown under the radar for fans focused solely on the Marvel references.

Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth on the set of Thor, preparing for an intense fight scene (Photo Credit – Hotstar)
Picture this: Tom Hiddleston, a.k.a. Loki, God of Mischief, is on set for The Avengers, ready for his big smackdown with Thor. But there’s one problem—his 30-pound horned helmet isn’t exactly selling the “punch me” moment. So what does he do? Hiddleston turns to Chris Hemsworth, his on-screen brother and real-life towering powerhouse, and says, “Just hit me in the face.” Yeah, you heard right. He asked Thor to sock him, for real.
As a guy with severe Shakespeare experience and a flair for the dramatic, Hiddleston might have thought he could handle a real hit. Spoiler alert: he could not. “I went down like a stone,” Hiddleston later laughed, recounting the moment on The Graham Norton Show. After all, he admitted, “Fighting Chris Hemsworth, you’re going to lose.

Marvel Studios is laying the groundwork for the grand finale of its Multiverse Saga. Now, there are still a lot of movies to come out before we get there, but the new plan is in motion as the studio looks to create a Marvel Cinematic Universe moment much like it did with Avengers: Endgame. That moment will likely come in Avengers: Secret Wars.
The direct sequel to Avengers: Doomsday and the likely conclusion of the Multiverse Saga, it is expected to have the titular team of MCU heroes unite with heroes all across the multiverse in a bid to stop the dangerous Doctor Doom (who will be played by MCU legend Robert Downey Jr.). Fans are predicting that it will rival the iconic showdown between The Avengers and Thanos in Avengers: Endgame that brought about a close to the Infinity Saga.
That will no doubt be a moment in cinematic history if it does happen,...

Did you know that yesterday marked 3 years since the release of Eternals in theaters? That means it's been over 1000 days since we first met Starfox and Blade in the movie's post-credits scenes.
Marvel Studios has devoted many movies, TV shows, and stingers to introducing new characters during the Multiverse Saga...with no clear indication of when or where we'll next see them.
There were a handful of heroes and villains from those first few Phases who ended up vanishing, though at least some of them - The Leader in next year's Captain America: Brave New World, for example - have eventually resurfaced. Still, even with two Avengers movies on the horizon, we're not entirely sure these characters will ever show up again.

I have been down on Marvel superhero films, for a long time. I was trashing them before it became cool. It was in April 2020 that I said the following, in my review of Hellboy 2 (a brilliant film).
In ten years time everyone is going to be saying “The Marvel films were actually quite rubbish, for the most part, weren’t they?”. This is because, they are. I enjoyed the odd one here and there (Guardians of the Galaxy) but for the most part, they are bad films. The Avengers have taken the traditionally accepted plot and story arc conventions of film making and torn them up. Why have Oreos when we can have double stuffed. Why...

Superhero movies will always be our guilty pleasure, no matter how old we get. Whether it’s Marvel or DC, we love seeing larger-than-life stories unfold on the screen. However, there is no denying that the superhero genre has its fair share of cynics who believe that we are going through superhero fatigue at the moment. Recently, Tom Hanks opened up about the genre and the so-called “fatigue” it’s supposedly experiencing.

The actor believes that the audience is over the flashy world of superheroes and is not looking forward to seeing fresh stories that they might find relatable. Of course, Tom Hanks isn’t the only critic when it comes to these movies but the genre also has its fair share of supporters.
