Goofs

While in the armory in the monastery Vlad walks through a beam of light and doesn't burn.

Vlad jumps after Mirena in an attempt to save her when she's falling off the tower, leaving Ingeras in the tower. Next time we see Ingeras he's sitting on Mehmet's horse.

In the beginning of the movie, Vlad takes a bath and you can see the scars on his back. Later, after he has defeated part of the Turks army, he is making love to his wife and removes his shirt. All the scars have vanished.

Various characters speak in Turkish during the movie, however the Turkish they speak is both heavily accented and often grammatically incorrect, making it obvious that they're not dubbed by native Turkish speakers.

Vlad III was not known as Vlad the Impaler during his life, but was rather given the nickname posthumously. Therefore, he would never have been called this by anybody, as he is several times in this movie.

The external walls of the Cozia Monastery are covered in fresco paintings. Cozia Monastery does not have such external walls, however the churches from the neighboring country (which in Vlad's time would be Moldavia) do have external walls covered in fresco paintings.

When Lucian tells Vlad that he encountered a vampire, Lucian says that Pi is Greek for "to drink". Pi is actually the Albanian word for drink. Not Greek.

In the beginning of the film, the Turkish messenger implies that Vlad has killed a battalion of scouts. As a military unit, a battalion historically consists of one thousand men, and it does not make sense to field an entire battalion of solely scouts. In reality, a scouting force would likely comprise of a squad or section sized element of up to twenty men.

Through the process of adipocere (or similar procedure); after Vlad bites Mirena and drinks her blood, the priest performs the last rites, there are no puncture wounds visible on her neck.

While in history Mehmed first defeated Vlad (Vlad Tepes) in 1462 and Vlad fled to Hungary and prisioned until he released in 1474. In 1476 he attacked to Ottomans and defeated again but this time Vlad's head was brought to Mehmed as a proof. Mehmed died 5 years after he defeated Vlad III for the second time. After he defeated Vlad III he put Radu in that position and the region was still a part of the Ottoman Empire till 19. Century.

This is a fictional movie that is based on the fictional writing Bram Stoker.

When Vlad sends the bats against the army he holds up is hand, which has calluses. However, it had already been established that Vlad heals almost instantaneously and calluses should disappear.

When Vlad meets with Mehmed in his camp at the beginning of the film, he mentioned the Turk's fine coffee. However coffee would not be known in Europe for approximately 50 more years, when Columbus brought it back from the New World.

When a sword is drawn from a leather scabbard, it does not make a ringing metal-against-metal sound.

The second time Vlad enters the cave, a tarantula can be seen. While creepy, that particular spider is a golden knee tarantula, native of the Chaco region in Argentina, South America. The action takes places in Eastern Europe.

Vlad never ruled in Transylvania. He ruled in the neighboring country, Valahia. The Cozia Monastery is in Valahia, it did exist in Vlad's lifetime, but is was not fortified and not likely to be use during wars, as the place does not have a real military value. Most likely during wars Vlad would retreat to Poenari fortress, a place not mentioned in the film, but much closer to Vlad's capital than Cozia Monastery.

When his wife is dying he could have drunk her blood (or from anyone else's dead body lying around), l without killing her, making her drink his blood so she would become a vampire as well and stay together forever. There seemed to be enough time for this, cause it didn't seem like she was in a rush dying. Also, no real wounds were visible, falling from a like like that would splatter your guts and brains all over the place.

At the end Dracula makes the clouds disappear. He could have hid in a tent first, so he wouldn't get hurt. All the vampires die quickly, except for Dracula, he doesn't even vanish to dust like the rest.

Also, he could have made the clouds come back when all other vampires were dead. Instead he chooses to pose looking at his son.

When he is revived by Igor or something, he could just be with his son again, there's no threat for other vampires anymore.
