A poor road worker sets off a chain of events that bring karmic balance to seven very troubled strangers. KARMAYA simplifies the complexities of the karmic mechanisms that bind present experiences to past life actions. It weaves through the lives of a dirty road worker, a servant girl, a tea seller, a stockbroker, an old drunk, an odd job man, a hermaphrodite and the young parents of a newborn baby girl but one of these also has committed the murder of a young girl and karma will make them pay for it. Clashing the many layers of the wealth and poverty within Indian society and merging the religious Hindu doctrines with people's drive to amass wealth and not wisdom, each character is dragged along by the others actions until the troubled storylines zenith the girl's killer is found.
