Broadcast on the 25th anniversary of the Stardust fire on RTE ONE at 9.40pm on the nights of Sunday, February 13 and Monday, February 14.
Veteran Irish journalist Charlie Bird was called to report on the fire as soon as news began to spread early on the morning of Saturday, 14 February 1981 as the rest of Ireland would wake up to the news of the tragedy. According to Bird he saw ambulances going to Dublin City Mortuary already and that the water from the fire hoses used to put out the fire had frozen due to the cold February temperatures common in Ireland.
