At least, Rejean Tremblay took critics from last season of Lance et Compte (I truly believe La Reconquete was really boring and ending in a very deceiving way....) and improved the story to make it more exciting.
The story revolves around Guy Lambert, whose first game in the NHL was a pure nightmare where an accidental charge on another team s player accidentally kills the latter, and have to live the nightmare of being jailed for something which was mainly a pure accident. However, the prosecutor does not see it this way and decides to put charges on a jail term. Guy s father, Pierre Lambert, former famous superstar of the Quebec Nationals, hire a very feisty lawyer who is handicapped for his defense. To make matters worse, Guy falls in for the daughter of the said prosecutor...
On the other hand, the wife of a hockey player vows revenge on an evil vamp who tries to woo the lawyer and plays the same suicidal game that kill her husband a while back...
And for the rest, the Quebec Nationals struggle with coach Marc Gagnon during these sad events, however, he has also to cope with two players whose adventure with steroids might ruin their career...
A series which at least was better written and with better situations. The Guy Lambert story might be tiring at the end, but besides this, it restored my faith in this 20 year old series...
A sequel is on the way, involving the Montreal Canadians...
