Bestias Humanas is very standard fare that could have been much improved with some overacting. Although superstar Sergio Goyri plays the lead role, that of Dr. Luis Berlanga, it is the veteran Manuel Ojeda, as Comandante Peña that really has the most to do. Andrea Haro as Tania, is good playing a "bad girl" with a lot of help and attention from the wardrobe department. Telli Fillipini is Dra. Reyes, Sergio's love interest, although her character is more involved than that. Perhaps you're familiar with Clint Eastwood playing "The Man with No Name"? Well, here, the young Gerardo Viola plays the TV reporter with no name! Rounding out the cast is bad guy Dr. Kurvalech, played by Jorge Victoria. The plot involves organ trafficking, certainly a limited movie category, with attack dogs being suspect very early on. The dogs do have an important part in the story, but overall not much action scenes are given to anyone. A chase scene on foot in which the pursued steals a bike, yet doesn't quite get away is effective. There is the required night club song as well, that is enjoyable. Reporters are involved throughout. Fight scenes are handled with care, and the shootings are typical, with everyone being shot at least 5 times. For the faint of heart, it must be noted, there is some gore.
