Intertitle: "Youth for Service is an inter-racial inter-faith organization which enables youth to serve the community by means of volunteer work projects."
The article in the December 10, 1958 San Francisco Chronicle titled "24 ROUGH S.F. 'CLUBS' SET UP TEEN PEACE" was written by Thomas Carr Benét, son of Stephen Vincent Benet and Rosemary Carr. Benét worked for the Chronicle, where he was reporter, editor, and chief editorial writer, from his hiring in 1950 until retiring in 1994. He passed away in 2016, three weeks shy of his 90th birthday.
