Actually, Lake Charles is a city, not a parish. All of the parishes used for filming, as well as several others in southwest Louisiana, were devastated by Rita.
Cameron Parish was the parish that was destroyed by Hurricane Rita. Lake Charles is in Calcasieu Parish (which was also heavily damaged) and is directly north of Cameron.
