Trivia
First appearance of Robert Dornan as an uncredited co-pilot. Dornan will do a total of 25 appearances, most of them as Bob Fowler. Dornan became a Congressman from Southern California.

Goofs
General Savage is seen in town wearing a raincoat, on which the single stars are placed outboard on the epaulet sewed-down portion. Stars worn by General Officers are never displayed in this fashion. They are the only rank insignia always centered on epaulets.

Is the General allowing sentiment to color his decisions?

When the story begins, General Savage is at a party and is in for a surprise. His ex-fiancee arrives at the party...and is the wife of Major Gray (Steve Forrest), who has just been assigned to the General's bomber group.

Soon after this, the General needs to organize a mission but is very short of personnel. So, although Gray needs a rest, he puts him in charge of what appears to be an easy mission. Unfortunately, it turns out to be a horrible mission and afterwards, Gray begins to wonder if the General is trying to get rid of him in order to get to his wife. But this idea doesn't last long....and all is well by the end of the show.

All in all, a very good episode. Not one of the most memorable ones but rock solid and written well.
