All I want for Christmas is a few laughs.

Al takes on the role of Santa at the mall so that he can afford to buy his family presents. After a long shift of obnoxious brats perched on his knee, and being ridiculed by Marcy and Jefferson, he goes to a bar to drown his sorrows...

I wasn't a fan of the festive episodes of MWC for seasons two and four, so I was grateful that they didn't bother doing any for five and six. Season seven's Christmas episode, imaginatively titled 'Christmas', reminds me why I don't like them: they're just not that funny. This one nose-dives early on with an embarrassingly-bad laugh-free flashback to 1974, Christina Applegate pretending to be a little girl and David Faustino as baby Bud in a highchair. And it never improves, the low point being Marcy and Jefferson leading a terrible Christmas singalong that mocks Al.

I think I chuckled once, when Santa Al makes a remark about a fat kid ("What's he want a pony for anyway? To put between two slices of bread?").
