The real Almanzo Wilder actually had a sister named Laura. To create a distinction between his sister and his wife, he gave Laura Ingalls the nickname of "Beth" (for her middle name of Elizabeth).

Unbelievable and creepy

Well it definitely seems that the start of this season changed a lot of Dynamics of the show in its characters. It was unbelievable that Nelly only being 13 years old would be intelligent enough to graduate from school considering the fact that she's been a lot of time cheating until she got caught. And then that she would have the maturity to be able to run a restaurant when she was a spoiled child who never looked at the finger around home let alone knew how to run a business. That whole storyline was just unbelievable.

And then the new teacher, this Eliza Doolittle, is introduced and comes across as a geek. It sure makes devoted fans of the show miss the first teacher who was so lovable.

But the worst thing is, Almanzo. Never liked his character. He came across as a wimp. And the fact that he was so much older than Laura just gave a total creepy vibe to the show. I just never seem to get into the series after this season started.
