I saw this film at the Palm Springs International Film Festival and have never seen a movie in a theater before that was already cropped for television and square in format and not rectangular. What's up with that? It didn't even take up the whole screen. The two other characters seemed very familiar with Jules Verne and were familiar with his novels but surprisingly had no interest in learning how he wrote or why he wrote what he did. It would be like going on a journey with Stephen King and you knew of all his books but never had a conversation with him on any of his books. No outstanding acting here either. It's a nice little story and photographed well. An intriguing, compelling story shot on a low budget can sometimes go far but a fanciful story shot on low budget like this just looks cheap. I might watch this again on TV where it belongs but never in a theater. I would give this a 5.5 of a scale of 10 and can not recommend it.
