Almost half the worlds population live in poverty. When asked, "What can we do to help?" select individuals and groups started provided small loans --often less than a $100--to entrepreneurs too poor to qualify for traditional bank loans. Thirty years later almost a 100 million of the world's poor have taken advantage of micro-credit programs to life themselves and their families out of poverty.
