Oramunde

This is an art film from the DVD collection entitled "Unseen Cinema: Early American Avant-Garde Film 1894-1941" and it can be found on disc 7. For the most part, these short films are NOT the sort of thing that would appeal to the average person. I think the only reason I watched is because I am a nut about films! This is a very weird film--even for this collection. It consists of various shots of waves coming in to shore and then abruptly the film cuts to some woman running about with a HUGE muslin-like sheet draped over her. She appears to be wearing a bra and panties under it and dances and cavorts about--looking a bit like a ghost---a very artsy ghost. As I said, it's all pretty weird. BUT, the music is nice and it does seem to fit the film. It's too bad that there isn't any sort of commentary track for this--as I'd sure love to know more about the folks who made this...and why. But, I assume that like most art films, there really is no why...at least in the conventional sense.
