Storyline
Featured review
Fortunately, this documentary is not as biased as many others about Hollywood stars. This is not a director/writer telling you his opinion on "this is how XYZ really was", omitting everything that doesn't fit into such a limited frame. Instead, many contemporaries of Hedwig Kiesler tell their memories which are often contradictory, but you can make your own guess on who is the most believable witness. Excerpts from a 1970 interview with the lady herself give an even better impression of the difficult kind of person she apparently was. Naturally, there are also excerpts from her movies, some of which I have not watched yet ("Lady of the Tropics", "His Majesty King Ballyhoo", "White Cargo"), tempting glimpses! The documentary leaves you with a sad feeling that in the end, it's the cruelty of time that we all must age and fade away - certainly Hedy Lamarr wasn't spared and met a lonely demise. Well researched documentary fans shouldn't miss.
