I've watched this movie so many times as a little girl and I still enjoy it... This tale of an exchange teacher who earns the respect of a class of delinquents carries themes of race, class and love. Mr. Rhodes is a black high school teacher who demands that his all-white British pupils face reality and prepare for the harshness of the real world, ultimately touching the lives of every unique student. Every kid has his/her background story and unique way in which they find adulthood. In a way, it's a coming-of-age story where the entire class grows up at the same time. I's still obsessed with the theme song which was wonderfully incorporated into the final scene.
