Also known as Murder on the Wedding Night, this is a well crafted movie of a crime mystery/horror genre.
Film opens with the wedding ceremony of the young master from a wealthy merchant family called Shen Hsiu Chang (Chung Wa). A guest named Tu Fu Liang (Lau Luk Wa) brags about having an affair with the bride. The bridegroom is furious with jealousy and accuses the bride. She runs away in despair and the next morning her headless body is found in an abandoned temple. A few days later, a hunter named Wu Hsiung brings a badly decomposed human head to the groom and his family and receives 1000 pieces of silver as reward for the head of the dead bride. The plot full of drama, twists and turns unfold from here driven by a search for the real murderer.
Recommended for everybody who enjoys Shaw Brothers classic movies.
