Pat Morita helped create the storyline for the "Karate Kid-sized" parody along with the writer/director.

His role was then offered to Roger Ebert, who turned it down due to a conflict of interest if he were to review the movie in the future.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan shot his scene in a little over two hours at a kick boxing gym. The temperature inside the gym was kept at over 100 degrees at all times, making for a very sweaty shoot.
