The film is based on the Survival Horror genre. Several titles that are referenced by the characters include the Silent Hill and Resident Evil series. Also mentioned is Fatal Frame.

It's a spoiler happy main menu change {each different} with a gameplay intro and blood scissors loading screen, so use at own risk.

It also adds a round clickable symbol to the main menu. Each character's symbol yeilds a different password for the official movie website.

Unlike several other movies here, a real Unrated Director's Cut is available that features nearly 83 changes in comparison to the Theatrical Version. Sometimes only alternative shots were used but there are also several scenes featuring completely new sequences that were probably cut for a lower rating in the Theatrical Version.
