In California, the great-nephew of Andre Toulon and owner of the Toulon Doll Hospital Robert Toulon (Corey Feldman) has found with his daughter Alexandra (Danielle Keaton) an ancient formula that brings the puppets back to life with his blood. However, the devilish owner of the Share Toys, Erica Sharpe (Vanessa Angel), who has made a deal with the demon named Bael, has a hidden camera in Toulon's place and discovers his secret. She has the intention of using his formula to reanimate the Christmas Palls, a successful toy manufactured by her factory, to cause the greatest slaughter of innocents on the Christmas morning. But Robert, together with his daughter, Sergeant Jessica Russell (Silvia Suvadova) and the guardian's puppets Jester, Pinhead, Blades and Six Shooter fight against Erica, Bael and her evil toys to save the mankind.
"Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys" is cheesy and lame, with silly screenplay and poor dialogs associated to bad acting. Corey Feldman is not funny and his character is actually annoying. Vanessa Angel is histrionic with her exaggerated performance. Danielle Keaton is sweet and Silvia Suvadova is reasonable. The result is a forgettable B-movie that is neither a comedy nor a horror movie. My vote is four.

The Puppet Master 1: terrifying Sequels: terrifying...that these get by as horror movies
Demonic Toys: sucked Demonic Toys Vs. Dollman: Not worthy to acknowledge
THE PUPPET MASTER VS. DEMONIC TOYS: Good; cheesy fun!
These film is the second best of the Puppet Master series and the first best of the Demonic Toys series! The gore was cool, the relationship between Robert and the puppets was fun and nice. All in all, it's not a bad film at all. Formualic: yes. Cheesy: yes. Fun: yes!

But then perhaps those moments are only cause I haven't seen a puppet master movie in a few years? And by that I mean an original movie not "best of" clips put together and sold under the guise of a movie (I'm looking at you Legacy). This movie had some okay ideas, but they were all hampered by phoney acting. I mean the puppet master movies and the demonic toys were never known for Oscar winning performances, but these characters seemed to lean towards caricatures of what they were suppose to act like (crazy scientist, evil mistress). And all of the puppets and toys seemed to lack detail and all were animated poorly. Of course being a T.V. movie based off direct to video flicks means that they were probably on a shoe string budget, but still why does jack-in-the-box have to look exactly like...well like a jack in the box. I thought they were from a movie called DEMONIC TOYS? And this could be me, but did Blade seem kinda out of character? My image of Blade has never included him standing on one foot while he spends around like a friggin ballerina to kill something. Anywho, this could have been a lot better, but I guess if we ever want to see the movies put on DVD Separately without having to pay $200 bucks for the whole set on ebay, we should try to support Sci-fi's offering and perhaps maybe, just maybe they might listen to our criticism for future installments.

Before we get into what PUPPET MASTER VS. DEMONIC TOYS represents, lets get into the back history of this film. Back when Charles Band and his Full Moon empire were still financed by Paramount Pictures, he was constantly turning out high quality, low budget features that looked like they were more expensive than they actually were (note that I didn't say that they were, you know, good). Anyway, times changed, people changed, and Band was discharged from Camp Paramount. Everything was in his hands now, and therefore, budgets dropped considerably; franchises that fans were use to seeing excellent SFX (we still miss you, David Allen) and great camera work were now only privy to even LOWER budgeted installments (a great example that ties into this film: Anyone remember the fan backlash at CURSE OF THE PUPPET MASTER?). Band even enlisted J.R. Bookwalter's Tempe Entertainment to make some films for him, and ironically, those films were better than anything Band produced or directed since the Paramount breakup.
Enter 2004. The Full Moon/Shadow Entertainment empire that Charles Band once had has pretty much crumbled beneath its own weight. In whatever circumstance occurred, the Sci-Fi Channel ended up with PUPPET MASTER VS. DEMONIC TOYS (oh yeah, note to someone who mentioned if Sci-Fi owned the old Full Moon movies or something that they would have had an all day marathon: Anything Full Moon that is pre-1996 for the most part is owned by Paramount, and almost all of the films from 1996 to 2003 are either owned by other companies that helped financially or were purchased were Kushner-Locke got bought by Artisan, so in essence, Sci-Fi couldn't have a marathon without buying TV rights for those films), and produced what no one thought imaginable: Charles Band's key franchise of the 1990s that put Full Moon on the map in the hand's of another company without their involvement whatsoever, and a sequel actually being released.
Directed and written by former Full Moon alumni Ted Nicolau and C. Courtney Joyner respectively, PMvDT takes a different approach with the PUPPET MASTER concept, that hasn't been seen in a while: Takes home in the low budgetness of the series, know that it is cheesy.
And when it comes to cheese, no one is better known than Corey Feldman, who plays as Robert Toulon with an "accented" deep voice, who I believe helps the film do what it is suppose to do, and that is just take the ball and run with it. Granted, his acting is nothing impressive (its a PUPPET MASTER movie, no Full Moon or not, its not going to actually be high quality entertainment), but his presence is what makes it so over the top.
The puppet and toy work is as good as it can be, given budget restrictions, and a surprising twist to the puppets (well, not surprising, if anyone remembers the old Full Moon Toys line). Although they are essentially completely new puppets (they are remodeled off of the original David Allen designs of the 90s) from the get-go, it was still fun to see some familiar faces running around.
And also, it works as something different for Christmas flare: The low-brow PG-13 (oh I'm sorry, TV-14) humor and violence actually help it, as it doesn't make it go too over the top, but actually fits right at home, and works well despite some entries in previous series being extremely hard R's.
Give it a shot, if your not into low budget, wrecks of films (and in all seriousness, I mean that in a good way), you're not going to have a good time, but if your a fan, look at this as a new beginning, like when New Line took Jason and made JASON GOES TO HELL and JASON X (well, don't think of those specific films, think of the comparison). But do not go into it expecting PUPPET MASTER 1 through 5 quality, because believe me, that will NEVER happen again.

Total garbage from beginning to end. First off, the puppets have never looked worse. Whoever designed them should be beaten with a sack of doorknobs. Second, the writing/ dialog is terrible. Corny as hell. The acting is just as terrible. And whoever cast a woman that almost looks older than Corey Feldman as his daughter, is an imbecile. They grayed-up Corey's hair and made him talk like he was reprising his "Frog brother" role from "Lost Boys." Anyway, again, horrible-looking puppets and even worse puppeteering. They move like crap. When they finally DO fight the "Demonic Toys," you'll feel like a retard for wasting your time watching this. Trust me, stay the hell away. It's absolute CRAP with a capital C. You'd think that Charles Band NOT being involved would actually improve the latest "Puppetmaster" but unfortunately for the audience, it's actually the WORST "Puppetmaster" film. And believe me, I like a lot of cheesy movies ("Killer Klowns From Outer Space"), but this one was pure GARBAGE! I guarantee that Corey Feldman cringes at the thought of himself being in this crap...and THAT says a lot 'cause he's been in a LOT of crap throughout his career.

I quite enjoyed this, but I must say this is really only for fans. This is the long awaited versus film between the demonic toys and the puppets of the Puppet Master series. One note must be made before continuing with the review, and it is the same note that must be made about all Puppet Master films. Obviously, there is no deeper message or any real value to these films other than mindless entertainment. I have tried to keep that in mind while reviewing this.
When one watches a film of this type, one fully expects lots of violence, lots of scenes involving the Puppets, and perhaps lots of nudity. As far as violence, this movie had some. As far as scenes involving the Puppets, there was an adequate amount of them. This was created for cable TV so there was not much nudity.
The directing, editing, etc. of this film was adequate for its purpose, to entertain fans of the film series. The acting left something to be desired, even for a Puppet Master film. Often times, I actually laughed out loud at the poor acting by much of the cast. However, I felt that Corey Feldman did a satisfactory job as the principle actor. His daughter was rather attractive and did an alright job as well, also.
The special effects of this were decently done as well. However, it was the utter vulgarity of some scenes that took away from this film. The 'sense of humor' of the Demonic Toys left something to be desired. I must note, however, that I am not familiar with the Demonic Toys series of films so maybe this is to be expected.
Overall, this was a decent film for fans of the Puppet Master series, such as myself. It delivered when it came to Puppet violence. The story, acting, etc. were not superb, but that is to be expected, especially considering this is a scifi channel production. For new fans, I would highly recommend starting with the first film in the series instead of watching this, as there is no sufficient introduction to the puppets. In conclusion, this is a decent offering, one that is not the best nor the worst in the Puppet Master series.

Supreme cheese. If you were expecting a nice follow up of some sort, do not waste your time. This is like "Freddy Vs Jason" without a studio backing it. No budget to speak of, they are clearly just throwing the dolls in the air during the action sequences!
Pros: Cheesy in a good way; Feldman is supremely idiotic and, well, funny (see: that ridiculous voice); the daughter can not keep from laughing during certain shots; the script was decent, if not original.
Cons: They throw the dolls in the air...not so much a con, really.
This is a very funny movie, I thought. Not good, not decent. Just grade-A cheese.
Check it out if that is your thing.

This should have been a lot better than it was. You have two of the best franchises and Corey Feldman, but the story is lackluster and at times silly. I am probably taking it far too seriously as it's only to be intended as silly gory fun, but the original Puppet Master movie was excellent and so were the first two Demonic Toys, plus Ted Nicolaou directing, since he was the one who directed Subspecies, I thought he could have done a better job. Although he claimed to have not been accustomed to working with puppets and apparently he wasn't happy with the film. Silvia Suvadova as Sergeant Jessica Russell was fun and could actually act. Vanessa Angel as Erica Sharpe is clearly having fun as the villain, and Corey Feldman as Robert Toulon should have been great, but I found his husky voice (I think done to make him appear older,) downright annoying. It's clear that Charles Band didn't have a direct hand in this movie. It's true his company Full Moon produced a lot of crap, but this movie was from two of his best franchises and a very talented director, it's just a shame because it could have been so much better.
There was some real potential there.

I alternate between loving and hating this movie for how bad it is. If you love bad b horror movies this is for you. I was very young whenever I saw any of the "Puppetmaster" movies so I can't really comment on how those relate to this movie. This movie nearly has it all - I say nearly becuz it does not have nudity :( However it does have satanic virgin sacrifices, evil toys that kill with awesomely bad stop-motion, and a stupid unconvincing portrayal of a mad-scientist by a washed-up former child actor (one of the corey's). And it only gets worse (yes worse). There is also a policewoman who wear her police uniform for the entire film! Every single scene, which included many scence were it made no sense for her to be wearing her on-duty police uniform. I mean who the hell did wardrobe for this film? Probably the same idiot that was responsible for casting - the father/daughter are almost the same age! They put her in pigtails and him in a bad wig to, I guess suggest a greater age difference, but its just laughable and a little creepy. Amazingly this is not the most terrible movie in the world - the plot is fairly consistent, its a stupid guilty pleasure horror movie.

Now, we've all seen the IMDb top 250 of all time (and bottom for that matter) but i have to insist that no matter what the rating for this movie is that is be inducted to the top 250 for being one of the greatest laugh out loud movies of all time. Consider the baby-doll's Fart Attack, and the way that same baby beats up all the good characters in the movie, or the way that just because Corey Feldman has to pee, that his daughter's kidnapping is unknown to him through the screaming and noise. Or the fact that the police woman that Corey's character meets somehow knows he has fled to his mothers house. Or maybe it could be that there is a Christmas Spirit Award presented by the police department to a toy company. This Movie, Ladies and Gentleman is what you call an instant classic. And by Instant Classic i mean, the cast and crew of this film should probably be burned alive or at least maimed a little bit for doing this. But yeah, you should probably rent it, it is more laugh out loud than the Ringer or Guess Who.
I'm no Scrooge. I accepted Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys in the spirit of fun in which it was offered. Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys premiered on the Sci Fi Channel and it was one of the funnest Christmas TV movies I've ever seen! I'm not sure what Christmas TV movies those who didn't care for it prefer, but I like irreverent B-movie fun. Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys delivers! Every Christmas TV movie should have Corey Feldman, a blood draining machine, demonic toys, living puppets, and a demon! It all makes for a fun and humorous Christmas gift for fans like myself. I'll definitely be adding PuppetMaster vs Demonic Toys to my DVD collection and re-watching it every Holiday Season.
OK, so it may not be the best horror film ever made...actually it is one of the worst purely for the concept of it, but hey its only a film! Basically its Christmas Eve...ish, and the demonic toy company are released yeah you guessed it demonic toys set to destroy everything on Christmas day, BUT! Andre Touloun's great nephew Robert Touloun is there to save the day! Accompianed with our old Puppet Master favourites, him, his daughter and a copper attempt to stop the demonic toys and there seemingly demented master. Yes it is completely predictable and the fight scenes are seriously funny, but Corey Feldmnan makes this film watchable as the bumbling hero with some risqué jokes with the copper and just being a generally lovable character :) don't watch if expecting a plot twisting, mind numbing horror film its just a bit of enjoyable carnage
Thanks to some masochistic urge to return the world of Full Moon from when I was 15, I watched this when it debuted on the Sci Fi Channel. It is beyond awful which is surprising because director Ted Nicolau can usually deliver a solid B-movie. The plot is a carbon copy of HALLOWEEN III (here Satan worshiping toymakers create toys that will awaken on Xmas morning and kill) but without the style or suspense. Corey Feldman is the lead (that is a HUGE red flag right there) and hams it up terribly. The effects work, usually one of the more enjoyable aspects of these films, is pathetic. I guess I got what I deserved. Shame on Band for selling the rights for this one off flick. I never thought I would say this but this is a disgrace to both franchises.

I will keep this short just to say that there were not enough of the creatures that the movie was named for and too much of the actors (who were all horrible except for the actress playing Alex who was not too bad, all in all. The acting was horrible!!! Corey Feldman playing a graying father was laughable, Vanessa Angel was way too over the top and the every time the policewoman was on screen I thought I was watching a bad foreign film, with dubbed acting and laughing...whoa!...Being a fan of the Puppetmaster series I was willing to give this a try with hope in my heart but all I can really say is that I curse the surreal life for bring one of the Coreys back to this level of movie. I remember when he was a really good child actor...what happened???

Oh how I miss the good ol' days! Do you remember those days? The days when the Puppet Master series was good? The days when Full Moon owned the rights and made half-way decent movies? The days when Corey Feldman had a career and made good movies? Yeah, I remember those days too. Gone but not forgotten. I have just watched the world premiere of "Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys" on Sci-Fi and boy-o-boy, what a horrific piece of crap it is. And to think, I couldn't wait to see it when I heard it was finally coming out. Being a huge horror/Puppet Master fan, I have all the Puppet Master movies, and after watching them all, I'm sad to say this entry is an embarrassment to the series. Where do I begin telling you about this movie...Well, let's start with Corey Feldman. Poor Corey, the eighties were so good to him and now look at him. He plays a role in this movie that should've been played by an older actor. He's so laughable to watch in his funny gray wig while talking in his scruffled "older" voice. Am I supposed to believe he's a middle-aged toy making dad with a teenage daughter in this movie??? And the acting...oh lord, don't get me started about the awful acting; and awful is putting it mildly. Secondly, let's talk about the puppets...only half the puppets are here and they leave out two of my favorite puppets of all time...Tunneler and Torch! They also leave out Ms.Leech and Decapitron. We don't even get to hear Six-shooter's infamous laugh!! "Heh Heh Heh!" Not once! We don't even get to see the puppets in action until the end of the movie in about a two minute battle. The acting is awful, the plot ridiculous, the "special" effects are a joke, and the demonic toys are just annoying and cheesy!! Especially Baby Oppsie-daisy! Ugh!! Could this character get anymore on my nerves? Charles Band where are you? I thought Full Moon was putting out some crap there towards the end, but after watching this, I would welcome Full Moon back with open arms. I thought since Sci-Fi picked up the rights, the series might be pointed in the right direction...Boy, was I wrong! Please Mr. Band, come back!!! Don't let the beloved Puppet Master series end this way! Make us devoted Puppet Master fans proud once again!!!

I am a huge fan of the Puppet Master Series, but I have never seen worse acting in my life. Especially Corey Feldman. He needs to retire. He single-handedly destroyed an entire franchise with very-poor acting. The Puppet Master films, I know, aren't always about their acting...it's about the puppets. I understand that. But in this film, if that's how you'd lable it, Mr. Feldman looked like he was reading most of his lines off a dry erase board. And he seemed never on cue. Maybe it's been way too long since he's had to act. Maybe he never could. But I did a better job acting in my sixth grade play of MacBeth. And I'd never acted before.
Well, let's say.. Instead of seeing Seed of Chucky tonight, I decided to stay home with my girlfriend and see the premier of Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys..
I'll give a short review: The movie was pretty lame.
The casting was goofy, the acting was very cheesy; and not in a good way..
The movie pretty much just butchering the Puppet Master Storyline, along side the Demonic Toys..
Overall, i'd give this movie a 4.. Not even sure if it deserves that, enjoy.

I am the one who is weird. I want to get prepared for Black Devil Doll, so I am immersing myself in classic doll/puppet stories starting with this one.
First, you have Corey Feldman (Gremlins, The Lost Boys) as the mad scientist type trying to find his great great Uncle's formula, his cute daughter, Danielle Keaton ("Beverly Hills, 90210", Pinocchio's Revenge), assists. Add the evil corporate CEO, Vanessa Angel, with her demon partner Bael (Anton Falk), and you have the makings of a good story - especially when they squeeze the blood out of the virgin to bring Bael to life.
OK, it has the usual cheesy dialog, but watching Feldman wasn't a total waste. He did save the world and get the girl (Silvia Suvadova).

I found Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys to be an enjoyable film. The first reason I liked it was the fact this was an all original film, in the sense that it didn't use repeat scenes from past films. Curse of the Puppet Master, Puppet Master: The Legacy, and Dollman vs Demonic Toys all suffer heavily from showing a barrage of repeat scenes from past Full Moon films. PMvsDT is fresh from start to end, which was great to see. While it does add a new continuity to both series, it does touch upon the old films, perhaps more to the side of PM then DT though. It does pay homage and makes a mention of the events in PM3, and the new background information on the history of the puppets could have a possible connection to Retro Puppet Master.
PMvsDT had one thing I thought the several of the last PM films had been missing. It had humor and it was fun to watch, really fun. Besides Baby Oopsie's cracks, limited swearing, and one liners, Corey Feldman's Robert Toulon had some goofy and humorous moments. The way he portrayed the character of Robert Toulon gave us a new kind of Puppet Master. He did have a touch of that vengeance within him, like Andre Toulon wanted to avenge the loss of his wife and friends, ready to go whatever it took to get his daughter back. Robert had that fun energy inside of him like Rick Myers, the Puppet Master of PM 4 and 5 had. Robert Toulon added a new element to being a Puppet Master, being a family guy, having his daughter Alex to care for.
Many PM fans were disappointed by the fact that not every Toulon puppet returned for this film, only four, Blade, Six-Shooter, Pinhead, and Jester are in this film. One report I heard was that Sci-Fi Channel just wanted these four in the film, the reasons for that not currently known. While it would have been great to see everyone of them, people have to realize that these films are on limited budgets, they do all that they can with what they have available and possible. Besides, by only having four puppets, you can focus on them more. In Retro Puppet Master, there were six puppets, but three of the six didn't contribute much to the film. Retro Tunneler didn't do anything other than make appearances, Cyclops did the same as Retro Tunneler except playing a part in connecting past/present, and Retro Six Shooter only had one scene of glory. In Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys, all four puppets play a important part, both when they are in regular form and Cyber form. They all get their shining moments. I thought Blade, Six-Shooter, Pinhead, and Jester all looked well, both in regular and cyber forms. They were all a tad different than past films, different sculpts were used, but I liked the look because it stayed mostly true to how they looked before.
As for the Demonic Toys, they are only three, and once again, I think this is because of Sci-Fi's request. All three have been altered in looks, looking much less frightening than in the previous two DT films. However, at the plot of this film, they are toys called Christmas Pals, which are being sold around the world to millions of kids. At the start of the film, they show a television ad for Christmas Pals, where Baby Oopsie Daisy and Teddy Bear are shown being all cute and loved by children. Now, if they had looked like how they did in the original two films, I think sales would have been quite low. Part of being demonic is trickery, fooling people, so Erica Sharpe is fooling millions with her Demonic Toys, which if the plan hatched by her and the evil Demon Ba'al works, millions of Demonic Toys will rise Christmas morning, spreading chaos across the world. That would've been something to see.
All in all, I really enjoyed this film, I plan to purchase it on DVD when it comes out, and I hope a sequel is made.

Their is really only one word that can describe this movie: Horrible. Everything about this movie is horrible! The acting, the plot and the Demonic toys are lame! In the name of all that is good and holy never watched this movie! If you see at Wal Mart for $0.89 run the other way. The only way I recommend buying this movie is to A) Burn it B) Take a diarrhea Poop (apparently sh#* is not allowed) on it or we could do the easy thing and throw every single copy into the same landfill that Atari uses to destroy all those copies of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
There's really nothing else to be said about this movie... Other than I hope director Ted Nicolaou is never allowed direct again and be kicked in the balls every time someone notices him, the dude who wrote the screenplay is severely beaten and shot if he ever attempts to write another screenplay and Corey Feldman is never cast in any movie EVER again.
