I am a big Sailor Moon fan so I was honestly eager to see WINX club, but when I saw it I was horrified. How can anyone compare WINX club to Sailor Moon. Yes it follows the whole 5 beautiful girls transforming and kicking butt, but when it comes to characters personality and plot, WINX pales in comparison.
It is so stereotypical and shallow. As a girl I am insulted that someone made this show for girls. It is basically saying all girls should be skinny, where revealing clothes, boy crazy, and like make up. I don't think that is a good example for 7 year old girls or any girl. I don't remember being able to classify any of the Sailor Moon characters, but in WINX you have the smart one, the boy crazy one etc etc, and if there were any confusion of which is which their names say it all. I never approved of the name showing your character think unless the character is a superhero, and if not the name has to be very clever.
Also if they thought putting guys in the show would attract guys to watch it they are sadly mistaken, because Sky and Brandon have to be the biggest bunch of losers I have ever seen. They have absolutely no personality.
I think if you want a good show for young girls watch WITCH, it kicks butt. And at least WITCH means something, what the heck does WINX mean?
