(*Movie quote*) - "Eat my dust!!"
The way I see it - (Regardless of how flashy, colourful, and fast-paced "Tough Trucks" was) - This picture was basically just a shameless 1-hour product-plug for Tonka in order for them to sell their toys to the gullible kiddies.
Visually speaking - Yes - "Tough Trucks" was actually quite an impressive, little display of CG imagery. It really was. There's no doubt about that.
But - On the other hand - The characters in this story were all annoyingly stereotypical like you wouldn't believe.
It was especially "Tonka Joe" who grated on my nerves the most.
I mean - Here was this big "aw-shucks!" macho-man jock who was put in the totally degrading position of having to prove himself worthy in the ever-judgmental eyes of a fickle, sulking, snot-nosed 11-year-old boy.
It really killed me the way Joe (who was otherwise overloaded with self-confidence) would suddenly get all tongue-tied and bashful whenever he was in the presence of an attractive woman. (Spare me!)
