Has Kanye West really been cloned? This widespread conspiracy has been picking up a lot of traction in recent years. Even reality TV star Kristin Cavallari believes it’s true. Kristin rose to fame on a couple of hit reality TV shows during her teenage and young adult years. We’re referring to Laguna Beach and The Hills on MTV. Since then, she’s maintained relevancy with her Let’s Be Honest podcast. Kristin talks about tons of different topics on her podcast, but her decision to touch on the Kanye conspiracy is still jaw-dropping. Here’s what she had to say about everything.
Kristin Cavallari Is Convinced Kanye West Has Been Cloned
Kristin sat down to discuss the Kanye conspiracy with her co-host, Justin Anderson. She didn’t mince words when she started getting into it. She said, “Look at him. Compare old photos of him. It’s not the same f***ing person.

Pepsi and Paramount Global will travel back in time in a big bid to prove the TV commercial still has a future.
Starting Thursday, the soda giant will launch a massive video blitz, set in ancient Roman times, that touts not only some of its flagship beverages, but Paramount’s upcoming “Gladiator II”; the new NFL season; and even Megan Thee Stallion, who stars in the spot along with football greats Josh Allen, Derrick Henry, Justin Jefferson and Travis Kelce. The campaign can be seen across various Paramount properties — including CBS Sports’ NFL broadcasts, Comedy Central and Vh-1, along with social media feeds associated with the TV networks. Megan Thee Stallion will turn up at MTV’s 2024 Video Music Awards in full gladiator regalia before the airing of two-minute-plus version of the commercial, and Pepsi’s nod to the movie will be woven into the October 9 episode of MTV’s “The Challenge,...

Amid the rise of the reality TV craze, Kristin Cavallari was one of the breakout stars of MTV’s Laguna Beach, the 2004 series that chronicled the lives of select high school teens. But not all was as it appeared, with Cavallari reflecting on the harsh reality she faced after walking away from the show.
In an interview with Bustle released Thursday, the Uncommon James founder and podcast host discussed being a teen amid the rise of the reality TV genre and the idea of “franken-biting” (when sentence fragments are taken and put together to make it sound like someone said something they didn’t.) On the series, a then-17 year old Cavallari was portrayed in the “villain” role to the series’ “good girl” Lauren Conrad with the two seemingly in a love triangle with Cavallari’s then-boyfriend Stephen Colletti. The series aired on MTV from 2004 to 2006, catapulting some of the cast to stardom,...

A24, the Oscar-winning indie studio that has become an edgy brand name unto itself, is getting a big vote of confidence — and an influx of cash.
The studio said Wednesday it has closed on an investment round led by Joshua Kushner’s Thrive Capital. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Thrive invested $75 million into the indie studio based on a $3.25 billion pre-money valuation. A source close to A24 with knowledge of the investment notes that the company’s enterprise valuation now sits at $3.5 billion, suggesting this round of funding will net the company a roughly $250 million total investment.
As a part of the investment, Thrive founder Kushner will join the A24 board of directors.
The news of the A24’s new valuation and Thrive’s investment comes as the studio pushed into more commercial projects, with bigger budgets and A-list talent. There was a period, not too long ago, when...

Lauren Conrad has built her empire: She’s a renowned fashion designer, author and pastel social media legend. But she’s also — and always will be — the girl who didn’t go to Paris. While Conrad may have left the Hollywood Hills to return to her humble waterfront mansion beginnings in Laguna Beach, she left behind a millennial legacy: The Hills. An LA-based MTV spin-off to the reality series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, the show became a true pop culture phenomenon from 2006 to 2010. It followed a 19-year-old Conrad in her black BMW convertible to the City of Angels where she landed a coveted internship at Teen Vogue. Along with her bestie (later turned-frenemy) Heidi Montag, who would marry Spencer Pratt, The Hills found its best storylines in friendships and work opportunities — along with the dramatic, mascara-running dissolution of Lauren and Heidi’s relationship.

Imagine having your captured on film for a major network reality series: the friend fights, the heartbreaks, the hairstyle experiments you’d rather forget. Enter Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, a show that followed a group of real teens and drama in an upscale beachside community in California. The series, which ran for three seasons from 2004–2006, became an MTV phenomenon thanks to its charismatic, quotable cast (see: Kristin Cavallari’s “dunzo” and Lo Bosworth’s “goachie”) and almost-cinematic visual style. At times, it was hard to tell if what you were watching was reality or “really bad acting,” as many have called it over the years. But rest assured, as the title card promises: “The people, the locations and the drama… are real.” Read on for 10 Laguna Beach episodes that will let the rain fall down and wake your dreams.

Stephen Colletti and Jason Wahler don’t make many public appearances these days. However, the two reality TV stars used to be front and center in pop culture. Laguna Beach and The Hills fans know them from their embattled relationships with Lauren Conrad. Others may recognize them for their forays into acting (Colletti) and public battle with addiction (Wahler).

Paramount owes $2 billion in rights payments to the NFL in 2024, and S&P’s senior director says the company may not have the cash on hand as of now.
It’s hard to be in the business of media these days. The entire model is shifting, as revenue drivers that used to be rock-solid, like linear TV advertising, are nowhere close to as profitable as they used to be. Legacy media companies like Paramount Global are some of the hardest hit by this atmosphere of change, and that company in particular has been the subject of merger and acquisition talks more than once in 2023.
Standard & Poor’s Senior Director Naveen Sarma says he doesn’t necessarily see the cash on hand at Paramount needed to meet its $2 billion obligation to the NFL next year. Paramount’s financial position makes it a ripe topic of conversation for mergers and acquisitions, particularly...

When Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage launched The O.C. in 2003, it would change TV — and teen dramas — forever.
It’s a winding journey that the duo captured with the help of Alan Sepinwall, Rolling Stone’s chief TV critic, in Welcome to The O.C.: The Oral History. Across 11 chapters — and a prologue that teases the wild ride — the trio, along with the cast, writers, crew members, producers, journalists, fans and studio and network executives, trace the show from its early origins to its very last days on set, and beyond.
Not only would the show bring Savage and Schwartz together in what has become one of TV’s most fruitful partnerships with Fake Empire Productions, but it would go on to inspire a library of young adult shows, from Gossip Girl (and its reboot) and The Carrie Diaries to Marvel’s Runaways and Looking for Alaska; multiple reality...

CBS Sports just added another soccer league to its airwaves — one that will make American soccer fans very happy. The United Soccer League (Usl) and CBS Sports announced a multi-year rights agreement, which will see the network air 100 Usl matches annually through 2027.
Games will air on CBS Sports Network, Paramount+, CBS Sports Golazo, and even CBS proper, a significant win for the smaller soccer league. The Usl is America’s Division II soccer federation, which places it under Major League Soccer, the No.1 domestic league. Paramount is open to distribution agreements with more providers that will give linear subscribers access to its streaming services.
The Disney-Spectrum carriage deal which was struck in September was a landmark agreement. It allowed Spectrum TV customers to log into ad-supported Disney+ at no additional cost, and Spectrum is now paying Disney a wholesale rate for those users.

Speaking with Wall Street analysts on Thursday, Paramount executives confirmed the coming months would see a price hike for Paramount+ users.
Last quarter was a good one for Paramount+. On the heels of a price increase that saw its ad-free tier rise in cost to $11.99 per month and its ad-supported plan jump to $5.99 when Paramount+ integrated Showtime in June, the service gained 2.7 million new subscribers in the third quarter.
Paramount executives confirmed again on Thursday that they saw room to raise Paramount+ prices further. The company’s last price increase led to fewer cancelations than forecast. It has been nearly 20 years since Laguna Beach first premiered on MTV!
The reality series debuted in September 2004, and followed the lives of a group of high school students who must contend with love triangles, strained friendships and questions about their future beyond their lives in California.
