Filmed over two days with a live audience. The audience paid half ticket price to accept all the cameras on and off stage. Later audience members stated that it had felt natural with all the cameras, since Simon Spies was always followed by reporters anyway.

The director of the stage show, Nikolaj Cederholm, took over the role as Simon in a remake a year later. Some reviewers found the new version even more satisfying than the original, but the lack of star comedian Anders Matthesen made it slightly less popular at the box office.
Charlotte Munck, known for her lead in TV-series Anna Pihl, took over the role of Lisbeth Knudsen in the stage remake.
Anders Matthesen remained friends with singer Susanne Lana after the last show.
