The dog and pony show just wasn’t doing it for Hailey Whitters.
After her self-released, heartbreaking ode to the cruel realities of the Nashville music business, “Ten Year Town,” took off while she was waiting tables, Whitters found herself doing the usual rounds to major labels — singing a few songs, going through the motions, hearing the excuses for why they wouldn’t be able to sign her after all. She’d dress up just to get let down, and, 12 years into a 10-year town, the experience was still living...

The passage of time was a heavy presence in singer-songwriter Hailey Whitters’ breakout single “Ten Year Town,” in which she reflected on the sweat equity and lack of guarantees when chasing a musical career. In another Whitters’ song, “The Days,” time is still a central figure, but in this case it’s something to be savored as long as possible.
Written by Whitters, Hillary Lindsey and Ben West, “The Days” stitches together memories of spiked lemonade, high school graduation and hiding out in Cvs to avoid the town gossip, with...

NBC has released a bunch of trailers and clips for a new collection of TV series that they have been developing. We've got stuff from 1600 Penn, Infamous, Save Me, Next Caller, Do No Harm, The New Normal, Guys With Kids, and Go On. It will be interesting to what shows make it and what shows end up on the chopping block. Check out the trailers and clips and let us know which ones look good to you!
1600 Penn:
“1600 Penn” — The Gilchrists are just the average American family dealing with all the everyday issues – like a grown kid who’s forced to move back home, children who are smarter than their teachers and a stepmom (Jenna Elfman, “Dharma and Greg”) desperately trying to win over the kids. They’re loving, fun and a little crazy. In other words, just like everybody else. With one exception: they live in a very special house.

ABC on Tuesday greenlighted three drama pilots from ABC Studios, including one exec produced by "Grey's Anatomy" creator/exec producer Shonda Rhimes.
That project, "Inside the Box," was joined on the pilot roster by "I, Claudia" and an untitled project based on the Argentinian drama "Brothers & Detectives."
"Inside the Box," written by Richard E. Robbins, is set in a Washington network news bureau and centers on an ambitious female news producer and her colleagues.
Robbins is exec producing with Rhimes and Betsy Beers.
Rhimes had been interested in the world of journalism as a setting for a show. She developed a project about a group of female journalists, which was picked up to pilot in 2006 but was ultimately shelved when Rhimes got busy with "Grey's" and its spinoff, "Private Practice."

'Makeover,' 'Case' among nets' few Sunday drivers
A repeat of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition led ABC to its second consecutive Sunday win in the adults 18-49 demographic on what was a low-rated night all around for the Big Four networks. The 9 p.m. encore of Makeover was by far the highest-scoring show of the night in adults 18-49, drawing 8.3 million viewers and a 3.6 rating/10 share in the key demo, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. At 10 p.m., the second outing of ABC's summer drama series The Days (5.6 million, 2.3/7) fell off significantly from its premiere numbers a week ago, though it had a stronger lead-in last week from a fresh episode of Makeover.
