You might like this movie if you like German movies in general. On the other hand this one is as dull as all the others. "Flashback" (1998) was the last German movie entertaining and funny enough to watch it twice. I can't judge if an actor is good or bad. I'm not an expert. All I can say is I just didn't like to have my eyes on the ones I met in this film. Neither my ears, they speak like they have to read a student's script. Nothing more to say about the script anyway. Same with the camera views. After 10 minutes I wanted to leave the theatre but my buddy wanted to stay. I think he consumes anything he paid for to the very end, even if it's a punch on the head. After 30 minutes I wanted revenge. That is why I'm writing these lines. The last 30 minutes me and my buddy had a lot of fun speculating the potential of far more worse turns in the plot. If you love Soaps, don't miss this one. I you're more into cool acting and surprising stories better look out for a Danish movie.
This film deals with a teen girls desire to become a model despite some body image problems. Issues of loss of a step father and some conflict with the mother add up to a lot of problems for the main character. Sub plots deal with the mother and her needs and starting a new relationship with a male co-worker. Adding a great deal of humor to the situation are a brother and sister in the family. Diversity issues that you might not think of when thinking of German films are handled as a matter of fact and with skill. The film deals with the body image problem quite well. New problems and goals for the teenager are handled with imagination and creativity that are sadly lacking in many teen films and television programs in this country. It would be great to have this film shown in the USA and get teen feed back for this German film.
