In episode 1, the shape of the stadium is an obvious reference to the video game character Pac-Man. Also, Mr. Mystery's mask resembles one of the ghost characters from Pac-Man.
The karate gis that Fubuki and Hanako wear in episode two are references to the costumes worn by Ryu and Ken in the video game Street Fighter II: The World Warrior (1991).
For promotional appearances, including a music video for the opening theme, voice actress Sakura Nogawa wore a duplicate outfit designed after that worn by Fubuki, the character she voices.
