The VHS artwork is actually reused from Funeral Home.

The film had overseas theatrical releases but none in the US, though it had a single invitational showing at a theater in Fort Worth in November 1988, mainly for cast, crew, and friends.
The video title comes from the film "Paura nella città dei morti viventi", which was released in America in 1983 as "The Gates of Hell".
