In this movie the children are often in the nude. Director Isild Le Besco said, "For me, they are so into this organic, animal thing that it would have been weird not to see them naked. And besides, I didn't just stick a knife in their face and say, 'Take off your clothes, I'm going to film you'. It came naturally, after a scene we shot, where, indeed, they had to... The scene where they go out at night, to catch a cold; I told them to put up their T-shirts, and they naturally started to undress. And then, when they came back into the apartment, they were naked. They were fine. They're young, so it wasn't a gangbang to get naked... So they stayed naked naturally. I didn't say to them 'Put your clothes on'... It was absolutely natural for them to be in that city like that, animal. It was natural because it was also my naturalness, and I projected that onto them."
