Great Program

I used to watch this show when I was in primary school. Not unlike an Australia version of "Unsolved Mysteries" or "Sightings". From memory at least one story in each episode was from one of the aforementioned programs.

Warwick Moss had the perfect voice as the the show's host. The set was (supposed to be?) an old shack on a Melbourne (I assume) dock which gave it this creepy eerie feeling. The closing shot would be of Warwick Moss walking down the old run down dock.

Actually looking back on it they did deliberately play up the "Creepy Factor". It used to freak me out a bit. I would probably not enjoy it as much now as I feel that some of the topics tackle perhaps deserve more serious treatment.

Good Show.

I just randomly remembered this show from the early 90's and decided to look it up and low and behold its listed(IMDb never lets you down). I reckon it must of been one of the better Aussie TV shows of the early 90's, too bad tvnz haven't played any late night repeats. I think I must of been 12 or 13 years old when I watched this series, but man did this show scare the s*** out of me! I think the first episode aired which interviewed that WWII movie star from the 60's: Telle Savalas. Man I found it hard to go to sleep after-wards. Not surprisingly can't seem to find it anywhere on the net to download, torrents nothing. If anyone knows drop me a email thanks.

Great Show

From what I remember, this was a great show (in the sense that it achieved what it set out to do, scare the s*** out of its audience). This may have been easier to do as I was about 7-8 years old at the time, so I'm not sure if it will still scare me as I haven't seen it for a while. However, Unsolved Mysteries scared me then and still scares me, so I'm guessing The Extraordinary would maintain the same effect.

I found it weird when the host went on to host that lifestyle show, he even gave that innocent show a scary feel!

Can't find The Extraordinary anywhere though, unfortunately.

Creepy Late Night Series

I used to watch The Extraordinary all the time on late night television, it could have just been the host with the deep dark voice, but I found it to be very eerie and probably one of the freakiest shows at that time. The show featured videos that could not be explained and just plain mysterious circumstances.

The Extraordinary didn't last long on New Zealand television, but it had a decent run compared to other shows of 1993. Maybe one of the downsides of this show was that it had a short running time, it could have been the late night time slot for NZ or just the regular time limit, but it could have been a good one hour plus show. It would be great to see some old Re-Runs.
